I think it's a great idea! In fact, I've been thinking that for years. Close calls can win or lose games for teams, and close calls are very frusterating at times, so I am definetly all for instant replays!!Question about the double steal in baseball?
There should be an instant replay in every sport, to check to see if the officials called the right call.In baseball, what is a sandwich pick?
I think it should be used when there is a critical call and none of the umps say the ball.Is it free for my 3 year old son to get into a Cubs game or do I have to buy a ticket?
baseball umpires have the toughest job of any referee in professional sports. that being said, they've been doing it for over 100 years and they are a part of the sport of baseball. as far as a challenge system goes, for balls and strikes it would be entirely too disruptive. baseball games are long enough. what else is left to challenge? a safe tag? a fair ball? these calls are usually right, but if the mlb went forward for instant replay challenges for tags and foul lines. i think it could only improve the integrity of the game. When will Olympic Stadium in Montreal be bulldozed to the ground?
as long as replay isn't used for altering balls and strikes. I don't think it would be a terrible thing.however, knowing when to use it could pose a problem, as there at least 5 close plays at first and other bases PER GAME.
No.

You have to consider that umpires are only human. Even though they are great at what they do, mistakes are made. Although I would be against instant replay for things like balls and strikes (due to disruption to the flow of a game like a previous answerer stated), I think if they used a challenge system like in football for crucial plays, it could be a great thing for the sport. As long as there is a limit to the number of challenges each manager can use (since some managers would use it 20 times a game if they could...Mike Scioscia...) and there could be some penalty (like football) if it turns out not to overturn the ruling? (perhaps giving or taking away an out or two depending on which side is arguing?) Just some ideas...Right, let's lengthen the games even more.
Even if a call is blown, the team still has more than enough time to win the game. EVERY TIME. The teams that can't do this simply can't motivate themselves to do so, and that's something for their GM to change.
TV replays show that umpires get the call right more than 99% of the time. No one is perfect. Let it be.

Why would I want it in baseball when it has already ruined football! It takes to long for them to make a decision and when they do they are wrong half the time! They really get bad when the game is on the line!
Does anyone know where the Texas Rangers stay in Chicago?
Yes, they should have instant replay. There have been way too many errors on the part of the umpire that have cost some teams a win. I don't understand why it's not already in place.Indians fans: why isn't Choo playing?
No way. Some slight errors are what make baseball baseball. I would much rather have a coach go out screaming and yelling then throwing out a flag. Its makes the sport.Aside from that, its not too common that umps get a cirtical call wrong. If its something huge, they gather up and talk it over and usually get it right.
