Does anyone ele find it disgusting that Josh Hancock's father is suing?
Question:I'll be steamed if that BS lawsuit ever ever gets to trial. The details: Hancock was driving drunk, at twice the legal blood/alcohol limit, was on his cellphone, wasn't wearing a seatbelt, had marijuana in the car, and HE smashed into a tow truck, killing himself. Further, the SUV he was driving was a lease because he had an accident just a WEEK BEFORE in his SUV.
And the father is now suing the reaturant that served him drinks, the tow truck company and driver, and, if you can believe it, the guy whose car broke down and called the tow truck for service!!
I am outraged and wish nothing but misery in this legal process for the father and his idiot lawyer. If I were king, the old man would get 30 days in jail and the lawyer disbarred for 90 days for even thinking of clogging the courts with such a garbage lawsuit. Hancock did EVERYTHING wrong that night, yet his idiot father wants to blame someone else so he can sleep better at night.

Who's winning the mets/yankees game?
I seriously just finished reading that article and am speechless. Doesn't the father acknowledge any of his son's wrong-doing - I guess it's always easier to blame someone else. It's disgusting and I agree totally agree with you - throw him and his attorney in jail for wasting the courts time! I'm glad someone is as angry as me about this :)Save? What is the definition of a save?
i know i HATE when people do that, its such BS like the lady who sued because her coffee was too hot, or the guy in new york try to sue the fast food restaurants because they made him fat, isnt there a its my own fault clause or somethingCould a tigers-Indians alcs happen?
I DO B/C IF HE HAD ANY LIVE RESPECT OR ANYTHING LET HIS CHILD REST IN PEACE THATS SO DISRESPECTFULLWhat does the "PNC" in PNC Park stand for?
I agree, he evidently can not accept that his son had faults and made some poor choices. He is trying to get something for nothing. I would suggest may be someone should counter sue for his poor upbringing of his son to make poor decisionsDo you expect an NBA championship out of Lebron James?
Disgusting yes. Surprising sadly no. It seems that accountability for one’s own actions is becoming more and more rare. I understand grief, but the only person to blame here is Hancock. Unfortunately most people seem to look for someone else to blame when something bad happens instead of putting all the responsibility where it belongs.Welcome to sue America. Blame everyone else for your mistake, instead of yourself or in this case, your own kid. Unbelievable. Hey, does that mean he is going to sue the Cardinals?? I mean they did serve beer after the game right?
Name your top ten fantasy baseball pitchers (in order)?
Yes and no. If he is suing the tow truck driver and/ or company that is ridiculous. There is no way he should think about suing the driver who broke down either. I dont know what the law is in that state, but in a lot of states it is ILLEGAL for a bar to serve an intoxicated customer. So if Josh was intoxicated and the bar kept serving him there is a chance they are in the wrong. But clearly like you said Josh unfortunately made a lot of bad decisions leading to this accident and clearly the majority of the blame lies with him. I dont know the dads reason(s) for this, if it is to try to get money that is sick. If it is 2 try to bring more attention to drunk driving, and bars over-serving patrons, etc I think that is good and worthwhile however I personally think he should look for a different way. (Write congress, write books, become a speaker at schools and such, etc) But we should wait to see how this turns out before jumping to conclusions about Josh's father.Would you give Bonds anything he could hit?
I find it disgusting! He is an adult and went to the bar on his own free will. He was not a child and did not need a babysitter! And to even sue the person whose car was stalled, I could not believe it when I read it, like it was his fault that his car was stalled...yes that is what we all wish, for our car to be disabled on the interstate! I hope the judge takes one look at this and throws it out!Who is a better centerfielder? Andruw Jones or Jim Edmunds?
I'm with you all the way!So tired of people just fishing for money, I don't think this has anything to do about taking any of the blame off his son.
What year did albert pujols sign with the cardinals?
People are jerks and always want money. You have to watch everything you do because no matter what people can find a way to sue you. Its getting worse and eveyone is so greedy. What is the most exciting thing..?
whats really sad is this is just another example of not holding people accountable for their actions. Hancock made the wrong decisions, he drove drunk, possibly he was high, wearing no seatbelt and talking on his cell phone. I would love for someone to explain to me why its anyone's fault but his own self. this is extremely shameful, i hope the judge laughs his pathetic *** out of courtI am 15 years old leftey that plays for my hs baseball team what is average speed for a 15 year old?
has anyone here ever lost a son? I bet most people whoa re mad have never lost a child... its very painful and sad... I don't agree with this situation, however who are we to judge..RIP Josh Hancock.
Go Angels!
Who thinks the mets are having a good season?
Welcome to America. Anytime somebody dies in an accident, somebody gets sued.Frivolous lawsuits are out of control. That's why insurance rates are beyond ridiculous.
I am with you all the way up to the punishment. I think it needs to be much harsher than that, maybe then people would stop these frivolous lawsuits. It was a tragedy, but none of the people that are being sued are responsible. They can push blame on the bar, but They are not the ones who put the keys in the ignition. I am from St. Louis and from what I understand they tried to make him take a cab, I heard that they even offered to pay for it, As for the people that say you haven't lost a son... I have lost several very good friends to drinking and driving, and you can't blame anyone else for their poor decisions. It is time people grow up and take responsibility for their actions.
ok yes it is disgusting because that was Hancock's decision to go and drink and do drugs or whatever. . . i'm a Cardinal fan so don't get me wrong Hancock's death is still as tragic as Kile's death to me. . . . they lost a good pitcher and a good guy, although in a totally different way, but his choices were wrong as his father shouldn't be suing because of those choices he made. people see an opportunity and take it. oh and OUTRAGED? i don't know. . . outrage for a serial killer or rapist that gets a not guilty verdict from the jury and is sent back to normal life would outrage me but someone suing someone else is like pretty much an everyday thing in america. . . Get over it.
Does anyone know whatever happened to former Yankees pitcher Domingo Jean?
This is the first time I have heard of this. Now if anyone should get in trouble, would be the bartender and the owner of the bar. If the law states that the bartender sees that someone has had enough to drink, to cut them off. If Josh was drunk, he should of been cut off.
Now, how can this be proved? The "story" that each party says and which one is more believeable, wins.
Now if the father wants to collect, then the father should do some jail time for wreakless driving and in possession of mariajuana.
I have to admit, I'm answering this question without completely reading the article. I do not blame him however for suing the resturant. I had no idea he was suing the tow truck driver and witness who called for help. Those two claims are complete bullsh1t. I agree with the resturant though. I'll tell you why, several years ago I stopped in a bar with my brother who was on the verge of going over the line from buzzed to drunk. Because he was becoming hostile in the car I agreed to stop for one. I know a lot of you would have said, you should have booted him out of the car. Use your head, what kind of brother would that make me. Anyway back to my point. He was finishing up his drink, I left to go to the bathroom and I said to the bartender, clearly and we were the only two in this fricking dive. "Do not give him anything else" I come back and he has a full drink. I yelled at the fvcking bartender, asked him what the fvck he was doing and his response was. "Well he said you were driving" My point is this, it doesn't matter that I was driving I only stopped because he was becoming an issue as a passenger. The fvcking bartender should have never served him agan and yes HE WAS RESPONSIBLE. The resturant probably would have stopped serving an ordinary Joe but they probably kissed this guys a.s because he was an MLB player. The other two lawsuits are a fvcking joke and he'd better not win those. I have to believe it's more the point that he's suing and not so much the money unless of course the old man had a terrible relationship with his son and is just trying to cash in because he got nothing from the settlement of his estate. Sorry that got kind of long!
Who officially had the first homerun of the year?
I could kind of see some blame going toward the restaurant and restaurant manager for not monitoring their customers to cut someone off that don't know how to cut themselves off. What makes me outrage is that the dad and scum bag of a lawyer wants to try and place blame on the tow driver and the person that car stalled out. Maybe they need to find a way to flip the script and sue the Hancock's father for worried about teaching his son how to throw a curve ball instead of the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse. I hope someone set a fund for the tow truck driver and stalled car guy to help with their legal fees. I will donate all I can.More Questions & Answers...
