That's what i think atleast. Spending all that money on the overrated Zito was a HUGE mistake. Sure, he may somehow break out and zoon up to a 50+ game winner, but as of right now, i'd say the Giants would be better off buying younger talents and trusting there Triple and Double A's.

as a giants fan i can honestly say it is because we have no offense whatsoever. our only threat is bonds and he gets walked and we have nobody to protect him. all our offensive guys are old and washed up. our farm system is the worst in baseball and so we cant call anybody up. the only bright spot is the pitching. cain, morris have been good. lowry and ortiz has been ok. zito isnt doing well as of now, but i know he will do much better as the season goes on. we cant score any runs and our bullpen is the worst in baseball and we cant protect our leads. it is actually quite sad since san francisco has one of the greatest fan bases.Whats the best way to put a curve on your hat?

The Zito pickup was a vast waste of money that showed everyone two things, the giants are dumb and Scott Boras is a genius agent (though also scum ruining the game). I would have rather had Schmidt a couple more years than Zito for seven. In his first two games, only 13 pitches were swung on and missed. Thats terrible. Anyways, the main problem is no starter is under 32 years old on the every day roster. What the heck is that?How can i get my dad Orlando bloom to my softball game with out people noticing?
We can pitch with anyone but we cant hit for anything. I think we have the worse 3 hitter in the league (Rich Aurillia). We just need A big bat to go in front of Barry and we would be pretty good. We should went after Lee and Soriano harder. Forget Zito we woulda been good at pitching either way so they should spent that and alot more to bring in one of them two.Cain 4 Cy Young

Mostly because they haven't been able to hit very much. And when they get on base a lot of that time, they don't score. Their pitching really has been pretty good. I mean Matt Cain the other night.that was some good pitching...he may have walked to many guys but he didn't let them get a hit into the sixth inning when they scored their only run I believe. Even Noah Lowry last night wasn't that bad...I mean giving up only 3 earned runs really isn't that bad. The Giants need to start hitting and scoring runs. I read that it looks like Todd Linden will be getting to play a little more regularly which should help...I mean I don't think he's been real good so far this year, but he's only had a few at bats...it takes some time to get warmed up and then you have to stay warmed up by playing regularly. Anyway I hope that they start doing better and can at least make it to October!GO GIANTS!!

Yea they need hitting bad. Spent wayyyyyy to much money on Zito. He is overrated. He hasn't thrown a complete game in 3 years. I still think he will win 13-15 games. When have they had a true "quick start"? They start out bad each year, pick themselves up by mid May and then it's a crapshoot after the AS break.As someone that watched them since the 70's, when has the pattern been broken? I'll definitely see them have a quick start before I die, but the fans should not panic. It's just routine for them to start slow.
