Will Ken Griffey hit 30 home runs, and will he break Aaron's/Bonds' home run record?

How many no-hitters did Sandy Koufax pitch?
Make no mistake about it: Ken Griffey Jr. WAS twice the overall player Barry Bonds could ever hope to be - he was better in every phase of the game: hitting, hitting with power, fielding, running, and throwing. Had he not been injured so often (most of the time due to hustling and making plays other players could not hope to make) I have no doubt it would be him of whom we would be talking about being the greatest homerun hitter ever.Unfortunately, those injuries have taken a toll on his body - damage that has diminished his ability to perform at his previous level on a consistent basis. He will therefore not attain the heights he would have attained had he not been injured, and not break the record. Too bad. However, thirty home runs is still well within his capabilities if he remains uninjured.
Ken Jr. will be a first ballot Hall of Famer regardless of his final numbers, and will consequently be remembered as one of the most talented players of his - or any - era. That distinction, though not a thorough description of his over all talents, will unfortunately have to suffice. I just hope that Cooperstown has a sufficient amount of video so people in the future can watch it, and see what a tremendous player he was...
Greatest Yankees-Red Sox Rivalry Moments?
I love Griffey. He was my favorite player growing up, and before he started getting injured every year, he had a pretty good chance to challenge the all-time home run record. Unfortunately, he's no longer in his prime (he'll turn 38 after this season) and not likely to play every game, let alone play as well as he used to. I think the Reds have enough young outfielders that they'll try to give Griffey a rest now and then to get the young guys some at bats.If he stays healthy, I think he has an outside shot at hitting 30 HRs again (although I'd probably bet against it), but he really doesn't have a shot at the all-time mark anymore.
What are Baseball club box seats?
If fragile Lil' Griff doesn't get an ouchy, and can manage 460 AB's or roughly 120 games he 'll get his 30 dingers this year (and probably any other year he manages that)Become the All-Time HR Leader? Not a chance.
no because he cant stay healthy
Does anyone know the spread on the phillies braves game today? Also Red sox royals?
Griffey, unfortunately, will be barred from the 700 club due to injury. He has such a natural swing and his physical consistency (appearance-wise) seems to leave him free of the 'roids taint. There is little doubt he could have demolished the record if he'd have stayed healthy, but it wasn't to be.The best bets to beat the record, post-Bonds, are A-Rod and Pujols, although Pujols has a number of years to go ahead of him.
Who should the St. Louis Cardinals starting second baseman?
I hope so. He is my favorite playerWhen Barry Bonds is on the verge of breaking the home run record, what do you think might happen?
No and no.He can't stay healthy enough to come close to 30 HR's a season any longer, and because of that he's simply not going to stick around long enough.
In baseball, is there a balk that sends the BATTER to first base?
Come on get real, Griffey in his younger days would have smashed the record but now he is to injury proneWhy are Dread Sux fans so annoying?
he may hit 30...but with his injury history there is no way he is breaking the record. He has lost a step because he does not juice, that is the way baseball should be. Barry...go home.Big maybe?? Since he left Seattle it seems like he's been cursed. I hope he does do it, I'd tip my hat to him. I'll give Bonds the finger.
Griffey was the best player in baseball for so long. He was the face of baseball & a great ambasador to the game. With all the outcomes of the steroids and such in the game he stayed above all that and is to me one of the most respected players in the game. He's in his twilight of his career a great career, that will in the end have no championships on his records, but still a great player, the going home to play in Cincinatti was respectable undertaking, even thought the Reds teams have never been that good. I can't see Griffey hitting 30 unless he gets a full season of ABs, health took "the Kid" out of the chances to catch Arron, but he's still a great player...Arod is the odds on favorite to get past bonds.will bonds get to 800?? i doubt it...but will Arod?.if healthy...absolutley
Can anybody stop the Yankees & A-Rod?
Absolutely not. He has lost too many seasons to injury, and his skills have declined, though he still has that sweet swing. Back in the days before he was traded to Cincinnati and faced all of those injuries over the years, he was the favorite to break the home run record because of his talent and youth. He is far too brittle to keep playing to reach that record, even if he does DH in the American League.I honestly don't think he will. He's battled way to many injuries over the past few years, and he's not as good as he was when he was with the Seattle Mariners.
Isn't the pay some of these players in baseball get ridiculous? The salaries are crazy.?
No and No.What is the record for the fastest baseball pitched?
No, he's at the point of his career where he is to injury prone. I would say he will end up with 620 home runs. When was the last time two pitchers who won a World Series together faced off in the playoffs?
Ken Griffey Jr. will definitely hit 30 HR's per season, but regarding his health, it will slow his pursuit of history. The player with the most promise and potential of breaking the record is his ex teammate, Alex Rodriguez. Why do pitchers wear a jacket if they get on base?
i don't think he will hit that many. but i think that stearoid boy will hit aq bunch of themMore Questions & Answers...
