Who is the best pitcher in the AL under 25?

Question:My choice would have to be King Felix after watching him dominate the BoSox last night.

Answers:

Chicago Cubs?

Felix definitely squashed any Dice-K mania for a while. Dice-K pitched well but was clearly outdone by Hernandez last night. I am waiting to see Dice-K take on the potent Yankees offense.

Right now, Hernandez is the best young pitcher in the AL, but the season is still young. Others like Papelbon, Kazmir, or Zumaya may shine later this season.

At this point in the season, I'd have to say Felix Hernandez...phenomenal performance yesterday to go with a great start against the A's.

What's your favorite MLB Stadium and what makes it your favorite?

Felix is pretty good, but I'll take Francisco Liriano. He can hike the fastball up near 100 like Felix, and brings an unhittable slider and a nasty change up, much better than Hernandez. Plus, he is a lefty. They are both amazing though, and hopefully Liriano comes back 100 percent, cuz I could see these two dueling for Cy Youngs for the next 15 years.

Name the opening day lineup for theOakland A's in 1968?

Well Felix is having his best year but two wins into a season doesn't make you the best pitcher you need to look at all the stats for the careers and it wouldn't be Felix

Seat Numbering at Comerica Park?

This really is a stupid question. I thought this was answers not opinions. Anyway, if you are going to pick a guy solely on one appearance during a season, you must not know the season is 162 games long.

Baseball trivia question?

Felix Hernandez. Plain and simple. If that guy can stay healthy, he'll be able to do great things in the MLB.

Mark Buehrle or Josh Beckett?

Once he's back from surgurey (so next season), Francisco Liriano of the Minnesota Twins will be better than Felix Hernandez. But I'm a twins fan and biased. But honestly, if not better, a very close second.

Major League baseball 1999?

I know he plays for Tampa Bay and doesn't have as high of a profile as Felix Hernandez, but I'm surprised no one has mentioned Scott Kazmir. He's only 23, and he's only played a two full seasons, but check out these stats:

2005: 10-9, 3.77 ERA, 174 K, .248 BAA
2006: 10-8, 3.24 ERA, 163 K, .240 BAA

I know the win totals aren't astounding, but keep in mind he's on a weak team. His stats look even better when you consider his age, and the fact that he pitches in the AL East, which is a much tougher division with much tougher lineups than Hernandez's division. I can't think of many starters this young who could survive the rigors of pitching against the potent offenses of the Yankees, Red Sox, and Blue Jays (heck, even the Orioles), and come out of it with stats that good. Definitely a player to keep an eye out for in the future.
