Is anyone else surprised?
Question:is anyone else suprised with the amazing turnout of fans at the indians/ angels series at miller park. i mean before the 1st game they were expecting far less than 10,000 people but 19,000 ended up showing for the first game and almost 60,000 for the whole series. i was at the first game and as a brewers fan am amazed how many people were there, more people came than for a regular brewers game. i guess it just goes to show how much baseball is loved in this area where people come to the park just to see a game even when their team isnt playing. kudos to the brewers organization for allowing the series to take place at miller.
Answers:
having all seats for 10 bucks certainly helped to entice some ticket buyers..but it does speak well of the milwaukee fan base.
to the poster who said that selig(brewers) pockets the money...that is not correct..the indans get the gate receipts for the series.

No...I'm not surprised at all.Plus it was an opportunity to see AL teams something we really don't get a chance to see that much, so it was different and I think that is the reason for the great turnouts plus the ticket prices were right...$10!
Has anybody ever caught a home run ball?
I was very surprised also. Can you bring a digital camera in to Yankee stadium?
yup....What player has already struck out a league leading 51 times in 37 games?
I was actually expecting a really good turnout for the opening day game, but attendance definitely exceeded expectations. There are many people in the Milwaukee/Chicago area that are transplanted from the Indians territory (myself included), and the uniquness of having some other team's home opener would bring more fans. The turnout for the second game, though -- over 16,000 despite 4 inches of heavy snow was really astounding. I can believe that there were that many people there, too -- all the open stands were pretty much full. Not sure if Miller Park generates attendance figures from ticket sales or scanned tickets, though, so it might have been a bit off.
Why did all the Mets players shave their heads?
If (as you said) the Brewers don't draw that many people to their own games this year, with the team they have, and in that division, then I have to take back everything I said about Milwaukee when other people were asking similar questions the past couple of days. They should take that division by ten games, and if they still don't pull 20,000 to a game then Selig should retract himself for wrecking Milwaukee as a baseball town.
Why do the st. louis cardinals only have one jersey?
MLB does not, DOES NOT count bodies in the seats. MLB counts tickets sold, and for those games, tickets sold include the Indians' season's ticket base as well as any tickets that had been sold by the Indians for those games, on the assumption that they were to be played in Cleveland. Get those numbers, and subtract them from the announced attendance, and you'll see the real story.Kudos the the Brewers organization? Yeah, like the had in choice in this one. Like they had a choice in moving to the NL after '97, either.
Kudos only to Miller Parks stadium ops staff. They were supposed to be off for these three days and they were pressed into service on a last-minute basis. They have to foot the bill for those three days and they get next to none of the revenue from those three days.
OUTFIELD HELP! i need arm strength. please help!?
