What is a 'simulated game' in baseball?

Question:this is from a fantasy baseball article: Garcia was unable to make his last scheduled rehab outing for Class A Clearwater Tuesday, April 10, because of a rainout, so he instead worked five innings in a simulated game.

Answers:

What do you think of Griffey wearing no. 42 on Jackie Robinson's anniversary?

It's when the pitcher sets up and pitches as if he were pitching in a game, he also pitches full speed and the coaches track how he does, calls balls and strikes, judges if the ball would have been hit. its as if he's pitching in a game without the batter and fans

Over say the last 25 yrs who have been some of the pitchers in MLB who have hit a HR.?

they will have there pitchers pitch in a game like situation with a catcher and probably some coaches and possibly other field players as well as different types of hitters.

Its more like practice then a game.

Many teams will do that when they have an off day or rehab assignment where they are trying to get the guy back to his best as soon as possible.
