Ruined softball glove, or can I salvage?
Question:My softball glove got rained on and is now stinky and kinda moldy. I have set it out to dry but it still smells funny. Is there anything I can do to clean it and get the smell out? It is a leather glove and I would rather salvage it than buy a new one & have to break it in.

Who was the first Canadian to pitch a major-league no-hitter?
Try applying glove oil/leather conditioner and then putting in the oven at about 140 for about 15 -20 minutes.Try saddle soap. A glove should be able to stand getting wet without being ruined.
Soak in a mild bleach solution to get rid of the mold then apply "mink oil" over and over for a few days. I just had to do the same thing for my glove after it spent part of it's retirement in the garage.
Do u think the royals will make the playoffs with the win streak going.?
If it still smells, then the leather isnt dry sumwhere in the glove and theres bacteria. A leather glove can be wet without it being destroyed. You might want to Oil it, and leave it out to dry for a longer time, even in the sun, let it bake out there a little, so it THOROUGHLY dries.. then if it still smells, unlace it and really lossen it up and get sum Lysol Organic bacteria spray and spray the interior... if that doesnt kill the smell, then, the glove might be a lost cause... but i think a thorough drying out should do it.I would highly recommend WILSON GLOVE CONDITIONER, it will condition, restore, and clean up your glove even though it's wilson it works with any brand of glove
The Yankees really suck this year. Can Clements turn them around?
exactly! let the leather thuroghly dry in a open warm place. if the outside isnt good for this, try the mechanical closet in your house, or put a fan on it.BUT dry it but good!i found a really nice mitt at a park that was soaked and in the mud. i tried to find the owner, but had no luck and now it is my best glove! you can salvage the mitt, and if not, oh well, you can use it like the hockey guys do with their gloves. if/when there's a dust up on the mound...just rub the stinky thang in your opponents face...it will still catch grounders! GL with it.
Did any one watch the A's game today?..4-2-07?
let it dry all of the way before you do anything. i've used shaving cream before when something similar happened to my glove. it smelled for a while but after that it was fine.More Questions & Answers...
