he's a good pitcher, small build, which has not been too kind to many w/ like size frames. Oswalt is the best he can hope to emulate, but i honestly think his body will not manage a full season. Look at Prior - supposedly had the greatest mechanics ever and still,,so u never know..

There is no such thing as luck when it comes to being a great pitcher over an entire season. It showed that he definitely has great stuff and as long as he stays healthy, works as hard as he did last season and maintains his mechanics, then he should get close to repeating his previous season. Now remember, that he was a rookie last year and a lot of times rookies post great numbers because Hitters dont know them and dont have a good scouting report so he probably wont post as great of numbers as he did, but still good.Would you want a dress code implemented by your favorite team?
I think he will fall short of having the same year, but he will continue to be an effective starter. He has good stuff, and good makeup, unlike his brother. It wasn't luck, but his numbers will decline in future years.Part of the key to his success is his delivery, which is very unique and hides the baseball well from the batters. Towards the end of 2006 LH batters were picking up the ball well and Jered was giving up a lot of HR - but just to lefties. It didn't hurt him too much overall, because they were mostly solo shots.
As time goes on, the right handed hitters will start to pick up his ball also. Unfortunately for Jered, his pitches aren't that great. He's very dependent on disguising that delivery. So once hitters learn to pick it up, they'll really just tee off on him. This year should be so-so, but it will get worse towards the end; future years will get ugly. It will look like batting practice.

Jered Weaver has the potential to pick up where he left off last season and Angals fans and fantasy owners hope he can. His rehab starts in the minors have showed he is ready.
