Out of all the things to question the fairness of when it comes to Clemens, this is not one of them. The man was technically retired, and so he shouldn't have to report anywhere at all. At this point in his life, he should be allowed to report on his times, and you also have to remember that he did not even have a contract until Sunday. It isn't like he's been signed with the Yankees since January and has just not wanted to play. I think it is very reasonable for him to be back in late May. He hasn't pitched in 6 months so he does need some time to get back into baseball shape.some time to throw to real people. He will be making a start in the minors in a week, then he'll make one or two more and he'll be with the Yanks. I think that is very fair.Now what is unfair, is going to get paid more in 1 minute than I make in a week, and he doesn't have to travel with the team, in fact, he doesn't have to be their unless he is pitching on that day. Now that is not fair.
