I would assume the last AL game of the Season before the DH was introduced. So 1972. The Last American League Game of the 1972 season was the last game the DH was not used, because it was introduced in 1973.I could be wrong, but I think it was the 2005 All-Star Game in Detroit's Comerica Park.

My guess is when was the last EXACT time a DH was not used during a game at an AL park, not when did the DH become a part of the game which was 1973 (greatest year ever 'cause I was born that year, not the DH). However, I am not sure if this is what you mean or even if it was the last game, but roughly 10 or 12 years ago When Roger Clemens was still with Boston (I think) the manager did meant to do some sort of switch in an extra inning game. I can't remember the specifics, but anyhow somewhere the skipper screwed up and Clemens had to actually bat. I think he got a ground ball up the middle for a hit! Again, not sure if this is what you mean, probably has happened since then, but none the less a pitcher batted in an AL game. But, the game did have DH's, just screwed up the lineup at one point.Good question.
