Why Josh? Why?

Lifting weights significantly increases the chance of injury, and contrary to most people's beliefs, does NOT increase throwing velocity.

Long toss is a basic answer, but the right one. Start with a good warm up and work a good way up until you are throwing around 80%. Don't throw as hard as you can, but make the throw without throwing a rainbow; it is ok for the ball to hit to take a hop or two.

If you are a pitcher looking to increase velocity, forget about your arm. Focus on your legs, abs, and core. For your legs, do squats and run sprints. For abs, get a 4-6 pound medicine ball and do 'russian twists,' and sit ups. For core, do planks for one minute daily.
