What is the best baseball game you have ever experienced first hand?

Question:The best game I have ever attended was in 2004 when Bernie Williams hit a homerun to clinch the AL East, and give the Yankees their 100th win. The electricity in the Stadium that night was unreal! I've been to playoff games and even a WS game but NOTHING compares to that game.

Answers:

Does this count as a score?

I've been to a lot of games. Some of them all seem like a blur. However, you can't beat playoff games at the Stadium. Those are simply the best games any baseball fan could go to. Probably the best regular season game I've been to would be either Matsui's Opening Day grand slam in '03 or A-Rod's 3 homer, 10 RBI night in '05. Or maybe the 2nd game against the Nats last year at RFK, even though we lost (wasted road trip? nah...). That one was pretty exciting...

GO YANKS! '07 is our year!

Should the Cubs give anyone of the following pitchers a call, after Thursday's train wreck?

The best baseball experience ive had is my own game
heres the scene
2005 Great Lakes Regional
My team was down by 6 going into the bottom of the 6th inning
(in little league the last inning) anyways
we got 2 outs quickly and our hopes were down
We started a rally and we were down 11-10 and a kid who hit a HR earlier that inning was up
the count is 3-2 or 2-2 cant remember
anyways the pitch comes in AND
he strikes out on a HIGH fastball
even though we lost it was STILL my best baseball experince and always will be

College baseball records?

I was at Dodger Stadium when Kirk Gibson hit the HR beat the A's in the 87 (88?) World Series. The place was shaking. That was pretty awesome.

Why is carlos zambrano struggling so far this year?

Probably the one I got coming up the Reds vs the Brewers Tuesday night. I got great seats three rows above the visitors dugout I am so ready for it! Other than that it would be my first game ever last year, there is something about watching them live that is just amazing.
-NmD!

Can anybody tell me what babe ruth, Willie mays and Hank Aaron all have in-common outside the stat sheet ?

i am a Pirate fan and i live in Pittsburgh and i have been to 3 of the best games at PNC Park:

1. in the first year of PNC Park, 2001, the Pirates were down 8-2 going in the bottom of the 9th vs. Houston. the first two batters of the inning flew out so there was no one on and 2 outs and the Bucs staged a comeback capped by a walk-off grand slam by Brian Giles off of Billy Wagner for a 9-8 Pirate win.

2. this past year the Pirates played the Astros again and they went to 18 innings and the Pirates won, i think 8-7 when Jason Bay ran over the catcher on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 18th.

3. it was a Pirate / Cubs doubleheader and the day that Rob Mackowiak's son was born. the Pirates were down in the 9th inning of the first game then Mackowiak hit a walk-off grand slam (or maybe it was a 3-run home run).
then in the second game he came up again with the Bucs down in the 9th and hit the game-tying home run, then in the bottom of the 10th on the first pitch of the inning, Craig Wilson homered to center and the Pirates won and swept the doubleheader.

the best out of the three was definitely the first one. the 8-2 comeback with the walk-off grand slam by Giles.

Redsox pitching?

2005 WS Game 2 (the emotional roller coaster)

Terrible weather.. didn't matter.

Sox down by 2... Konerko grand slam to left (the whole stadium went berzerk as soon as he swung)

Sox up 2... Jenks blows the save in top 9.

Game tied bottom 9... weak hitting Podsednik hits a walk-off (the only walk off I've ever seen)

I was exhausted from jumping up and down and screaming.

2nd is Pierzynski hitting a 3 run bomb at wrigley to give the Sox the lead and the win. This was after the sucker punch. I' let the Cubs fans have it for an hour straight after that one.

What are the best seats and second best seats for a red sox game against the yankees?

I live in Toronto. Flip a coin between the last game at Exhibition Stadium and the first one at Skydome (now the Rogers Centre.)

Cubs fans on 99th year losing streak (please read, nothing mean in here)?

I too have been to WS and playoff games, but the game that sticks out in my mind is a game way back in 1979,my Cardinals were down by a run going into the 9th,they scratched out a run to tie and send it to extra-innings,the game continued into the 10,11,12,in the 13th the Astros scored 3 runs, everybody wanted to leave but I stood my ground and said "I never leave until the last out is made" Well lo and behold the Cards loaded the bases with 2 out and a little known power hitter in that day and age was comin up his name was Rodger Freed, who worked the pitcher to a full-count,where I boldly stated "Hes gonna hit it out".The very next pitch BAM,way back,it could be,might be,it is a Grand Slam to Win the game. But you know the best part I caught the HR ball.I still have it to this day.
