Why the Boston Redsox suck right now...?
When I use to play out field (I was switched to infield when I got older), but what I fould really worked for me, was sizing up the girl. If she looked like she could hit it far, I'd move further out, and if she looked like she wouldn't hit all the great, then I'd move it.Most the time though I would play further out then what the coach would tell me, because it's easier to run forward and get under the ball, then it is, to have to run backward and try and keep an eye on it.
Another thing you could do is, ask you coach to help you. Every day at practice our coach would hit us pop flies in the out field. He'd have us stand in a certain spot and then he'd hit it short or long, and we'd have to judge on where the ball was going.
On batting, I've had a couch, bring in a board of wood (like an inch or something off the ground, and wide enough to have the front of your foot on it) and she would have us stand on it and get our balance, and she would soft toss it to us. (After you step, make sure your foot is still on the board).
Normally when I bat, I keep all my weight on my back foot, and make sure your back is straight, don't hunch over the plate. And then when you hit it, step and make your back foot "squish the bug". At the same time, transfer all your weight into your swing, if you follow through, your weight should be going forward.
Hope it helps!
Do you think the Brewers are for real? or will they fizzle away down the stretch.?
Ermmm, practice.Does any body know if there is a baseball tournment going on in Steamboat Colorado?
I think your name says it all. Try to study some film. How long will it take the Yankees to get back above .500?
when you field in the outfield your first step is always back.. it is easier to move forward than it is to go back.. Don't back pedal.. you turn to either one side or another. As an outfielder you want to keep the ball in front of you.To keep your weight on your back foot you pivot... don't sway... pivot. When I was 7 they told us to imagine "squishing a bug" with your back foot.
