How many home runs would hank aaron have hit if he had played for the rockies?
The caliber of baseball is much better in the United States. How bad will the Cincinnati Red's record be at the end of the 2007 season?
Probably because in Japan, you're playing against only Japan's best and in the US, you have the best baseball players in the world in the MLB. That's my opinion.Japan's league is widely regarded to be somewhere between AAA and the Majors. Moving to the MLB is sort of a half step up. This is because the best players tend to come to the MLB where the pay is higher and there is more exposure. Thus, in MLB, it is expected that people like Ichiro and Matsui, as well as pitchers like Matsusaka and Igawa won't match their Japanese league numbers.
Still, their numbers aren't exactly bad. And with their more fundamental approach to baseball, they have some abilities that other MLB stars don't. Ichiro does not put up MVP home run totals but is a former MVP because of his outstanding defense, solid speed at the plate, and ability to make 200 hit seasons look routine.
They face consistently better pitching on a regular basis, and have to play more games in more parks. They are scouted better and their tendencies are known. I have found it exciting to watch some of the Japanese league's best play in MLB, they add a lot to the game!
Is pitching with sunglasses on safe?
