What is your opinion on the Reds' Derrik Lutz?

Question:He was their 19th pick last year, he is playing in Sarasota right now, started off in Chattanooga and was doing really well...I personally think this kid is the real deal. Once he breaks in he will be in the league a long time...

Will Major League Baseball eventually use computers to call balls and strikes?

I follow the Reds minors very closely and to get a good evaluation on Lutz will require a full season before any projections can be close.

John Sickels has him with a C grade so far and no other publication even rates him. An A grade are your superstars, a B grade is often very good players and some all stars. While a C grade is the lowest grade given most minot league guys do not even grade so a C is good having only pitched for 1 month last year in the minors.

I have him around prospect #40 in the Reds farm system. Check back with me in 1 year for an update.
