Is Albert Pujols going to do better or worse this year?
Let me give you the way it was explained to me by Major League umpire Charlie Reliford when I was confused about it."Can the batter hit a pitch that bounced out of the park for a home run? Yes, then the live pitched ball has hit a batter: thus, a hit batsman."
I never forgot that -- REMEMBER just b/c a pitch hit the ground it is not a dead ball! If it were a runner could not advance on a wild pitch / passed ball.
How does cork in a bat help hit the baseball further?
nope, it has to hit the batter before hitting the ground!plus i have only seen it happen once !
Will the orioles even win 70 games this season?
Actually it doesnt, surprisingly, they figured that if its intent was to hit the ground (to induce a strikeout) it might just have ricocheted thus not necessarily a pitcher error, and it was a ball that possibly had no intent to hit the batter but did anyway. Down and in is very hard to control also so that possibly plays a part in it.nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnooooooooooooo...
No.
