I personally found the knuckle grip to give me great 12-6 movement. Took a few times 2 get used 2, but when it worked it worked lol. It helped me stay on top of the ball and kept the velocity down. Those probably the 2 most important things.you must throw the ball slow enough so it can break ( not 2 slow tho) and u must have the ball spinning straight down...or else itll be a slurve and/or hang. Ive seen pitchers lift their index finger off the ball and just grip w/ their middle finger.ive seen pitchers cross their index on top of their middle.pitchers put the tip of their index next to the middle knuckle of their middle finger ( i think Pedro Martinez does this) so ur index tip is on it and ur index knuckle is pointing up..the knuckle is where u just put ur index knuckle on the ball instead of ur index finger regularly..keep the middle finger normal.
Grips will vary depending on arm angle, velocity, finger length, hand size, etc. Basically just experiment and find what works.
