Babe Ruth is in the Hall of Fame as a baseball player - the best baseball player of all-time. He was an outstanding pitcher and in fact still holds several major league pitching records, as well as being the power hitter he is known and loved for.Babe Ruth pitching sucked. Yeah, he has one or two pitching records...but his pitching was not good.
What is the difference between a straight Change-up and a Change-up?
He probably does have a section with his name on it in the hall of fame as a pitcher because he still holds some world series records as a pitcher to this day. He only pitched a few seasons at the beginning of his career. He is in the Hall because he is the greatest baseball player to ever play. The Hall doesn't officially make any distinction about what the player was elected for, so technically he's not in the HOF as a pitcher or as a position player.
