MLB Fans I need your vote on the steroid issue?
Question:A lot of you have expressed how you feel about the use of steroids in major league baseball. Most feel it's cheating and is ruining the game. With that being said. Which would you prefer to see happen.
(A) The current MLB rules on steroids.
Your 1st offense is a maxium of 10 days.
Your 2nd offense is a 30 day suspension.
Your 3rd offense is a 60 day suspension.
Your 4th offense is a 1 year suspension.
(B) Set a future date stating that from that day on any player caught using an illegeal substance will be banned from the game.
We can't have our cake and eat it to people. It's almost hypocritical of baseball to whine about the use of steroids yet they do not stand firm against violators that use them. You get 4 strikes? Come on.

How do i add Phil Hughes to my TEAM?
B - There is no in between when it comes to cheating.Did you expect a win from the Red Sox today? Wasn't that amazing?
I know people make mistakes, I'd like somewhere inbetween A & B.I say the first offense is a 100 game suspension and the 2nd offense, you're banned from the game.
Do you think Edgar Martinez should be elected to the Hall of Fame?
The first option sounds too weak. The second option is a much better option as it will scare everybody and will cause them to straighten up as nobody will want to be banned from the game altogether. And in turn it might even clean the game up as well. Why is a third to second to first double play referred to as an "around the horn" dp?
B- Stand firm. How many times have Toronto Blue Jays players won the American League Rookie-of-the-year Award?
Steroids aren't really the issue here anymore. It's hgh and other supplements that they can't test for yet. I don't think to many guys take actual steroids anymore, not because of the penalty's assessed by the league, but the affect it has on their reputation with the fans and around the league. Look what happened to Raffy, he cost himself the HOF and now no team will touch him. He wanted to keep playing for a couple more years, but he was forced out of baseball. Until there are more reliable tests for things that currently go undetected it won't matter what the penaltys are, they will still cheat. As far as penalties I think first time should be a full season, and the second should be a lifelong ban. If betting on baseball gets you kicked out this should too, in my mind its a million times worse than what the Black Sox and Rose did.Was someone stepping on John Kruk's tongue?
Set a future date stating from that day forward any player caught using an illegal substance will be banned from the game and ineligible for future employment in the game on any level.B. If not let them use and shut up about it.
I agree the current steroid regulations are much too lenient and not much more than a slap on the wrist. Heck, practically the whole NY Yankees roster is hopped up on steroids, anyone can see. It almost leads you to believe it's a required part of their team exercize regiment, and nothing is ever done about that of course.
Anyway, I think what you suggested for B is a little far on the extreme side though. There needs to be more of a middle ground between the two but leaning more towards B.
Perhaps:
1st offense: Fine & mandatory 30 day suspension (maybe 60)
2nd offense: Big, big fine & mandatory 1 year suspension
3rd offense: Mandatory expulsion from MLB
3 strikes you're out... it's the baseball way.
Has Harold Reynolds been involved with sports since his firing from ESPN?
OK the rule for 4 strikes is gay it should be 2 your out. And Bonds should be kicked out of the league and have half of his homers gone down the toilet. What do you think of the Brewers season so far?
I'd have to say somewhere between (A) and (B). Perhaps this:1st Offense - 1/4 Of A Season (41 Games)
2nd Offense - 1/2 Of A Season (81 Games)
3rd Offense - 1 Season (162 Games)
4th Offense - Lifetime Player Ban - Can still manage if hired
I feel that all infractions made as a player should not effect your ability to be involved in the game
I also feel that this rule should apply to ALL types of cheating.including corking your bat
Corking Your Bat = More Home Runs
Steriods (Does Not ALWAYS) = More Home Runs
I believe that the first offense should be a one year suspension and if someone is stupid enough to do it again, then they should be banned from baseball. If you really want to play the game, and care about the game, don't cheat. It is as simple as that.
Anyone have any Manny Ramirez wallpapers?
