Did anyone witness the Cubs meltdown today?
Ken Johnson, but don't forget about Harvey Haddox - a 12-inning PERFECT GAME ruined by an unearned run in 1-0 13-inning loss.As well, Andy Hawkins lost in 1990 with the Yankees when 3 errors and 2 walks led to a 4-0 no-hitter loss.
Matt Young lost 4-0 pitching for Boston against Cleveland, but it didn't count, as it was only an 8-inning no-hitter.
I might also note a game in the 90s where Blue Jays' Paul Menhart allowed a solo homer to Harold Baines as the only hit, losing 1-0. Though I'm sure cases of 1-hit losses are more frequent (I think Jayson Stark had an article inclding this info about 6 months ago)
That's all I've got.
