Do you think vin scully is the greatest announcer ever?
Question:i do here in los angeles with cable i have seen angels, cubs, white sox, braves, and the national televised (fox,espn) games and they all annoy me they don't even come close to vin scully he is always great to listen to.

scully is very knowledgable and un bias. He calls a very clean game and is a pleasure to listen to. Having said that, if i was a cub fan i would love listening to cary, or as i am a card fan i did love listening to jack buck. I would turn the radio on and mute the tv when jack was alive during the cards games. But both of those guys were very pro thier teams, with cary's 7th inning stretch root root root for the cubbies and bucks go crazy folks go crazy!!! Scully is the best at delievering the game with no personal preference or opinions involved. I also like twib.Not even close! the late, great Jack Buck and Harry Carry..enough said

the best was detroit tiger radio announcer and hall of famer broadcaster ernie harwell. he was a walking encyclopedia of baseball. he broadcast the tigers for over 40 years and every year with him was great.Does any body no a website where you can find out hte contracts of MLB players?
I don't know, but he sure is one of them. He and Joe Garagiola were priceless on Game of the Week years ago.I think that Mel Allen was the greatest. He had the right voice and really knew the game, and TWIB has been worthless since his passing. Dave Niehaus is still great, and he's done Mariner games since their inception in 1977. Bob Prince was great, too.
Nowadays, almost all of the national guys suck. Miller and Morgan are OK, but I hate Tim McCarver, Rick Sutcliffe (who always sounds drunk), and the immensely overrated Joe Buck.
And, even though he is an analyst and not an announcer, Peter Gammons has really lost his game. He's been terrible ever since he came back from that illness.

He may once have been, but he's long since lost his touch. When I listen to him (admittedly only when the Dodgers play my favorite team) he repeats the same anecdotes over and over and mispronouncing names of visiting players. I don't think Vin likes today's baseball as much as he did in the 70's and 80's. There is a little bit of magic missing there.He's in the top 10 annoucers of all time for sure.
