Question:it's sad this guy is so injury prone, will he ever pitch a full season again? and who just doesnt give a S.H.I.T? i'm not a prior fan or cubs fan just wondering what everyone thought about it

Where has the White Sox offense gone?
There are two reasons why they won't get rid of him. First, he's still young enough to have some hope of a decent career, he's 27.Second, which team would be dumb enough to trade for him? The guy has missed all or parts of '05-'07 and a chunk of '04. No team in their right mind would trade for a guy who is NEVER healthy. It's a shame, he had all the talent in the world. That's what happens with great college pitchers at big programs (USC for Prior). They are so great in college that their coaches overuse them for 150 or more pitches, and use them in relief. Prior is paying for that now. Do you remember Ben McDonald for the Orioles? The same thing happened to him.
Against which pitcher does Sammy Sosa have the most career at-bats without a home run?
He is a good pitcher when he is healthy, but the problem is he's never healthyDisappointment for the Cubs, all right, but as you said, Prior is injury prone. Didn't expect him to make it through the whole season, but also didn't expect him to get hurt so quickly.
Becasue he was decent before he always got injured and they hope that once he recovers he will be able to play again but he will never recover, Same with kerry wood.
he's one of those guys that has so much 'potential' that you don't want to risk booting him off your fantasy team for him to come back and be amazing. but you can never say 'mark prior' without the phrase 'as long as he's healthy' followed closely behind.
Who will win the 2007 AL West?
Completely Useless By September... I'm not even hating here, because they're f*cking stupid, I think after last year that should've been enough of a heads up.Were can i find a roger clemens texas jersey (burnt orange)?
The problem with getting rid of Prior is that he's still an incredibly talented pitcher. They don't want to cut him and have him picked by someone else and get over all the injuries (not to mention the financial hit of buying out his deal.) It would be bad if he went on to be a star for the Cardinals or something after the Cubs cut the guy. They can't trade him either, because with his history there is no way they will get equal value for him. Until his contract is up or some other team offers them a trade they can't refuse he'll still be a north sider. If he can ever stay healthy you'll be glad they never let him go.Why is opening day at 1pm? They trying to get people fired?
They won't let him go because he has too much potential and they have too much invested in him. It should be time to part ways with Prior and Wood.Who was the last player other than Eric Chavez to win the AL Gold Glove at 3rd base?
What I don't get is how everybody says his mechanics are so sound. If his mechanics are so great, how does he keep having recurring injuries like this (not including when he hurt himself running the bases and by a batted ball)?? Either way, I doubt we see him in the majors again for any extended period of time for the Cubs or any other team. Really kind of sad, both him and Woods had the hopes and dreams of Cubs fans put on them and they broke down under the pressure of 99 years of losing.First school baseball game this week, any tips?
Prior and Wood were their top pitching prospects, and after 2003 when the Cubs almost made the World Series, they were the new top pitching duo in the majors. The Cubs gave them big contracts, and they have had injury problems ever since. The Cubs would have to pay off their contracts anyway, so they might as well keep them around and hope they will get a miracle, until their contracts run out.Did pitcher throw a wild pitch to the rival pitcher when he's at bat, simply for retaliation?
the Cubs have invested millions into this guy. This guy was once touted as the next best pitcher. I have his jersey. I was once obesssed and addicted to him.I still am.
I am deeply saddened by his injuries for the past 2 years.
I am confident he'll recover fully and be great again.
Cubs dumping him would be like a husband divorcing his wife because she became handicapped after a wonderful and happy marriage.
How many rounds are there in the MLB draft?
They should have traded him when he had any value...of course hindsight is 20/20.BTW Turtles: "Cubs dumping him would be like a husband divorcing his wife because she became handicapped after a wonderful and happy marriage" ..that is possibly the worst simile I've ever seen...other than the fact that it made me laugh hysterically.
What are some of the best metal baseball bats ever made?
healthy or not...are you willing to give up a 6-5 power pitcher who sits in the mid-90s, with 3 out pitches (hard slider, 12-6 curve, good speed-differencial change up)? All of which he can successfully locate when he gets into a rythym. In addition, it could be that he needs a simple change of scenery to find that rythym. They don't get rid of him because they are the cubs. Nuff said.
What is the best way to teach 9 and 10 year old girls to pitch fast pitch?
Can you say Joe Mauer? One of the best desissions the twins have made. Prior, career done.Prior is just stealing his money from the Cubs. And to think a lot of "experts" thought my Twins should have drafted Prior instead of Joe Mauer. Shows you what the experts know.
Where is pitcher pedro martinez?
He's under contract so even if they release him they will have to pay him. No one in their right mind will trade for him. Their only option is to pray to the baseball gods that he can pitch again.More Questions & Answers...
