Contender or Pretender?

Question:Since it seems apparent that Bonds is gonna break one of Major League Baseballs, most cherished Records.

Is it gonna have an effect on how you see the game?
Watch the game?
Attend a Major League Game?
Is the Record gonna stand up, over time?

It's Baseball Season. How does it look from where you sit?

Answers:

How do i get my coa for my nolan ryan baseball and how much it cost?

1. No. I don't respect him, I think he's a cheater, and I think he should be banned for life. I am disgusted with Bud Selig and how he has handled this matter (juicing in general, not just Bonds). However, my love for the game goes beyond this matter, and to me Bonds is only confirming by the day what a louse he is.
2. No. Same as above.
3. Technically, yes. I've never appreciated it when fans boo, whether it be the ump or a player. But the only time I've ever seen Bonds live, I booed him as loud as I could from when he got on deck to when he got back in the dugout. I don't know if it was my imagination or not, but the people sitting nearby told me that after one at bat, it looked like he looked right at me in the stands. I was sitting pretty close to his dugout, and I am extremely loud, and I did THINK it looked like that, but I don't know if it was our imagination or not. They were strangers who said they saw it too.
4. No. As has been pointed out in baseball, the average player is hitting something like 20 HR a year, compared to about 15 50 years ago. It is bound to happen. You've never really been able to compare two eras, even two decades, just because things change. Does the fact that there were so many .400 seasons before and now nobody has done it since the Splendid Splinter mean that players can't hit for average, or does it have something to do other factors, like outfield size, ball weight and consistency, bat manufacturing, etc.? Is Babe Ruth's 60 or Maris' 61 as impressive as Ned Williamson's 27 in 1884? Or is Ruth's 60 even as impressive as his 29 in 1919, because of the livelier ball? The record is bound to get broken, it's just a shame that such a black mark will be on the record books. A lot of people are banking on Pujols or ARod, but I don't think these two are the kind of guys who stand outside the realm of players who you can suspect to be juicing, so that wouldn't satisfy me either. What I'd really like is to see Griffey hit 25 HR for the next 4 seasons, as unlikely as it might be, and then hold the record, because I think he truly is clean.

Which Is more rare?

I think its ridiculous with all the drug scandels that he can still even be considered in the running for this record.

I hope the steroid makes him break his arm in half so he can't play baseball anymore. Hank Aaron is a legend and Bonds is just a steroid taking thug.

If it were my choice he wouldn't be allowed to play til everything is clear.

It won't affect my Tigers one bit.

Why does Parking at Dodger Stadium suck so bad?

It won't have any effect on me at all. I'm a baseball fan regardless of what Barry does.

If A-Rod plays as long as Bonds does, he has a chance to break the record.

What is and who hit the farthest home run in Major League Baseball history?

bonds breaking the record will only have a major effect if he is found to be on steroids, in which case it could potentially destroy the game...if not, it won't be a very big deal

i can't say it will change how i watch the game, because it's been known that players are on steroids for years now

the record won't stand up, because if a-rod continues on this pace he will shatter the all-time record and likely be the first man to 800 home runs

Can parents file a petition to change a local Little League bylaw?

First of all 99.9% of all baseball fans will never consider anything Bonds does as legitimate. Chemically enhanced statistics add up to "Zero". There have been bad people in baseball before and the game always seems to survive. Baseball is so perfect a game that not even the incompetence that runs, it can destroy it.

I will always watch baseball. I will always attend major league games when I can. As far as any records are concerned, Bonds may pass Henry Aaron in the numbers game but the legitimate record holders will forever be Henry Aaron for his 755 career home runs and Roger Maris for his single season record of 61 home runs.

The one aspect to all of this is that Bonds undeservingly gets too much attention for being a cheater.

How do i hit the ball really hard in a game of rounders?

I think if it affected the way I watch the game there are very few games I could see because almost every team has someone who has been accused, or probably, did steroids. Hopefully players like Giambi, Sheffield, Sosa, Clemens, et al, will also go down under the cloud of steroids- as well as many others who do not play as spectcularly as those guys.

I think Alex Rodriguez is a current legitimate threat to break the record- wherever it ends up since he is only 32 and has almost 500. If he can hold it together look out for Pujois(steroids) or Ryan Howard of Philadlephia.
