Ian Kinsler probably has the best shot at doing it this year as far as his outstanding April is going. Reyes and Sizemore don't have the pop to hit 40 homers. I wouldn't be surprised to see Rickie Weeks get there in a couple years if he can stay healthy and get a little better at anticipating pitchers. Ian Kinsler (2nd base - TX Rangers) looks to be the most promising candidate. He is fearless in the box - he will crowd the plate and make pitchers throw into his wheel-house and he doesn't care who's on the mound; he works counts, and hits for average and he hits for power. He's very young with above average speed and raw baserunning ability and he's an intellegent baserunner who is good at reading pitchers and catchers. And above all, he has Ron Washington as a manager who lives for baseball fundamentals such as basestealing and he loves to send his baserunners.Who invented the baseball hat ?
Carlos Beltran could easily do it.I don't know if there are any current liegitimate 40/40 threats. Migeul Cabrera of Florida might be the fastest player who can hit a homerun. Jose Reyes and Carl Crawford have pop, but not enough to hit 40.
