Braves @ Boston?

Could it happen?? Yes, anything can happen. Will it happen?? Thats a big fat no...unless it incites a bench clearing brawl or something rediculous like that. The simple act of sliding into first isn't illegal and is not grounds for an ejection. If the umpire did this I'm pretty sure MLB would suspend him for at least a game kind of like the NBA did with Joey Crawford.

Take the letter "M" and give me your alltime baseball team.?

no, but there is no use. you are much faster running through than stopping your body with the friction against the dirt as you slide in, its just a dumb move. plus if the throw to 1st is from home your body can block the throw.

If Sadaharu Oh played in the MLB, would he put Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron to shame hitting 900 Home runs?

The only time you should ever slide into first base is when a throw is off line and you are avoiding a tag, other wise it acutally slows you down. It is not against the rules, its just not smart to do.

What ever happened to Shingo, the guy who was with the mets?

It depends. If this is little league, than quite possibly. No Ump wants to see his league's kids get hurt. You could get called out, or to send a real message, even be thrown out.

In the majors, no, plain and simple.

But just a note: Just because it isn't written in the rule book doesn't mean you can't be thrown out for it. I am sure they can't include every possible situation for being thrown out. I doubt there is a line in the rule book saying you cant throw bats at people, but it's common sense.

Will the Mets new stadium, Citi Field, have the Mets Magic Top Hat?

No, i i thinks thats one of those baseball/softball myths. It is much faster to just run through 1st base. I believe you can slide into first base if you taking a lead but the smarter thing to do would be dive and you can't get ejected for diving.

In the majors sliding is allowed, but it slows you down and hurts, but in little league it is probably illegal. Kids can get hurt.

Chipper Jones or Troy Glaus- better 3B?

In little league and rec. leagues, there are most likely rules against it, but in MLB, no.

The only time i've seen someone ejected for it (in MLB) is when they slid spikes up into the 1st basemans legs, which is deliberate attempt to injure and an ejection every time. The simple act of sliding (usually headfirst, though its a myth that it gets you there faster) wont get you thrown out.
