Call it luck or call if fate, but Derek Jeter has been to the post season every single year of his career. I have to take the seasoned veteran clutch post season hitter.A-Rod is a great player but I don't think he possesses leadership abilities.

I would rather have derreck jeter because he is much better in clutch situations and A-Rod is known for getting into slumps. Also Derreck Jeter is more of a vetran also.Jeter all day u can count on him

If I was the owner of Yankees, I would pick Alex right now because he's hitting homeruns and I think if he stays healthy throughout his career he will brake Bonds or Aarons homerun record. He'll make me a very rich owner, he's bringing in the crowd to the stadium. I don't know about he's personallity and how he gets along with his teamates. But who cares I'm rich because of him. Jeter on the other hand I would keep for good example to the younger player. He's an all around athlete.

It really depends on the rest of your team and what your needs are. True, Jeter has the leadership capabilities, but Alex has much more explosive run producing capability. What would you need on your team?Perfect example, while Bobby Abreu was with the Phillies they counted on him being "the man" -- drive in runs and pound our homers. He can do those things, but he fits in much better with the Yanks where he can work the counts, get on base, and get hits (not homers).
If I were starting from scratch, I'd take Alex. There are lots of leaders out there, but few hitters of A-Rod's caliber.

Neither. Im a Twins Fan. Besides the Yanks are getting their butts kicked over the past few games...ie. Sox sweep...Not that my Twins are doing any better aginst KC.Do you mean a baseball team or some other type of team? Geez, be more specific.
There are a lot of perspectives this question could be answered from. Do you mean as a fan? As a player? As a manager? Or as an owner?
As a fan, I'd rather have Jeter, because he's mentally tougher than A-Rod, exudes more confidence, and until this season seemed to be more likely to come up with a big hit in a clutch situation.
As a player, I'd prefer to have A-Rod on my team because he makes the lineup better and allows me to see better pitches, and he puts up monster numbers to help us win ball games.
As a manager, I'd rather have Jeter, because he's a good leader and leads by example, and I feel like I can count on him to show up mentally, try hard, and be accountable for himself with no drama.
As an owner I'd rather have A-Rod because he's hands down one of the best players in baseball, he puts up great numbers including home runs which fans love to watch, and he has been something of a controversial figure. All of the above puts fannies in my seats.

A-Rod b/c he's a better baseball player. They both clean players that arnt going to cause to much trouble in the dugout ex. T.O.A-Rod so the Rangers can have a reason to still be paying him.
Well to tell you the truth I could never pick one over the other. They are both my favorite players. They would both be a great part to the team and would both help a lot. They are both great clutch hitters and are both hott...lol. GO JETER!! GO A-ROD!! GO YANKEES! = )
