The rules of one per inning per pitcher still applies but for a player manager who is on the field the trip is an official trip is he steps onto the mound to talk to the pitcher. Pete Rose, the last player manager, thus far learned that the hard way when he began managing.

The rule does not change but when a meeting is determined slightly is altered(it counts once he crosses the foul line if coming from the dugout.
