Are rule breakers meant to be punished?
Question:Ok, so you know the old saying that rules are made to be broken. but..
In the 9th inning of last nights Cardinals versus Tigers game, a Tigers fan or more grabbed the ball out of live play bringing on the ruling of a ground rule double. The thing is that the tying run was on first base and with the fans illegal actions, he had to stop at third instead of trying to score. I realize that even though it's illegal to do, fans reach over the stands and grab live balls often. That doesn't mean they don't get ejected from the game because they are supposed to be kicked out of the ball park.
My question is how harshly should fans be punished when they take live balls out of play? If it's the 9th inning should they be able to come back and do it again the next night?! That's what I fear has happened to these Tigers fans who've changed the destiny of the Cardinals organization.
Please refrain from mentioning any famous ball grabbing fans to prevent further glorifying them.

Who was the first Canadian ever to play major league baseball?
This is a less than thought-provoking question if you know the rules of baseball. Had the umpire thought that the runner on 1st would have scored, he is free to award said runner home plate on the fan interference call. And please - failing to add a pitcher while most of your rotation is packing up and heading elsewhere is what "changed the destiny" of the Cardinals. That, along with less than impresive hitting, has just shown early on this season that they suck and have no chance of returning to the World Series.
And by the way, ball-grabbing is legal in the safety and comfort of your own home. Maybe if you did that, you'd loosen up a little. ;-)
Who In the NL Central is going to get hot and give the Brewers a run.?
Are rule breakers meant to be punished.. Man that's a tough one. I guess they are and aren't. It really depends on what rule you break. For example. If you were to go out and kill some one for no reason at all, you should be punished.
But if you just break the law of speeding a little, you should not have to be punished as much as you would be if you committed a crime such as murder.
So I think it really depends on the crime that you decide to commit...
What's the best slow pitch softball bat out there?
I don't see any way of keeping them out of future ball games, there are too many gates you can go through and you can-t place wanted posters all over the stadium. It's not that big of a deal either unless it's a game 7 of the payoffs of world series. 1 game out of 162 more than likely isn't going to cost you a season. Besides that a franchise isn't going to revoke someones season tickets for one bonehead play, too much money lost. As well as we the fans decided we wanted to be as close to the action as possible that's why stadiums are built the way the are now, you have to take the good with the bad. But I do not condone reaching onto the field for a live ball and the person should be ejected for the rest of that game.I think they should be banned from a couple games. But then, I think they should not be allowed to sit near the field when they do come to games,. Although, I don't know how they could reinforce it. Grabbing the ball while it is in live play is illegal and anyone doing it should be punished because it is a form of stealing. Stealing the ball. :)
Your still crying about this? The fans should be punished for not doing it. He helped his team right? Now if it was something that hurt the home team then kick his * for sure. Also, if this was such a big play how come there is not one mention of it in the game recap?
How many here would like to see A-Rod hit a "clean" 74 home runs?
So because the Cardinals suck this year you want to say the destiny of the team has been ruined by 2 fans. Why not simply admit that your team sux and they got very lucky last year. Your team is terrible and everybody else knows it so quit crying.More Questions & Answers...
