Are the San Francisco giants going to be a good team this season or even in the future?
Question:The San francisco gians have been in a sorda off and on slump and i just want to know if anybody thinks that they r going to be any good in the future or now. In the past they have been a good team but will they ever becaome one of the great teams

Has anyone met Barry Zito, or know him personally?
There is a huge, dark and looming cloud over the westside of the bay area. And that cloud is the steroids and homeruns scandal that surrounds one Barry Bonds. I don't want to turn this into a Barry Bonds debate, however I think the Giants can be good with him in there this season.I don't think they'll ever be a great team until that cloud of contraversy is gone, the SF Giants will just be able to go out and play ball without being under constant steriod contraversy that usually comes with national media reports dealing with the Giants organization.

This season i think theyre more concentrated on Barry because theyre free agents they got were old such as Dave Roberts or Barry Zito who is great to get but they have some talent in Fresno I cant wait for them to call up. I think the whole year will be off and on because of the new players and coaches that will take a year to get used to. Hopefully something pops and they spark it up.Currently I think the Giants field a very average team. They aren't horrible and they aren't great. The starting pitching is good but the lineup and bullpen isn't. Other than Barry Bonds, who else is a legit homerun threat on the Giants? Yup there's no one really. Sabean has mortgaged the Giants future because of Bonds like it or not. He signs average players just to fill slots to see if they can come up with the right combo to win a World Series for Barry.
Giants just aren't developing any young hitters while everyone else is the NL West has great young talent on their team and in their farm club. It seems like the Giants are just maintaining their talent while everyone else in the division is getting better and developing their young players. In a couple of years, it may look scary for the Giants as all of their young players will be old and never developed.
The one thing that might save the team is their above average pitching. They look pretty good. They just really need a legit player to protect Bonds and I don't think Durham is the answer.
Braves Fans - HOW MANY ARE THERE LEFT?
I think they'll hang in there in the NL West this year, but they will not beat out the Dodgers and they will not get better in years to come.They are an OLD team, maybe the oldest in baseball, and they don't have much happening in their farm system other than Lincecum. He will definitely be a force in the Major Leagues someday, maybe alongside veteran lefty Barry Zito, but he is not ready yet and will not be in the rotation til 2009

They won't ever win with Barry, and I can't watch their games, so to any fans, Is Barry hitting? or is he just trying to hit HR? Every highlight swing of his i see is an attempt to hit a HR, not to hit a single, get on base, drive in runs..Am i wrong?
Cain, Lincecum, Zito - there is good potential there in the pitching, if only the bullpen was the same.
The gaints are too old, they need to get rid of the old guys, Roberts, Durham, BONDS - even if they are good, you have to get rid of them to win.
It will take years to rebuilding, better to start today, Look at the Tigers as an example, bad for years, then got all the pieces, now look where they are.
