What is the famous Schilling sock?
Question:I don't happen to know what the Curt Schilling famous playoff bloodied sock is all about and recently saw the article saying that a broadcaster said that the sock was just painted red, it wasn't blood. I don't even know what the sock is and what this is all about. Can someone please explain the story to me?

Curt had some Quick surgery done on a tendon in his right ankle. It ended up bleeding and coming through the sock. Oh my gosh...I cant believe he is playing like that...oh no! Please...spare me. It was that bloody sock alone that won them the Series. It was good though, it has to happen at least once every 86 years right?

But it started bleeding and bled through his sock. Everyone was amazed that he could pitch through the pain, and still do as good as he did. The red sox went on to win the World Series.
