I haven't heard anything about him using race as an issue. If he did, he's obviously terribly misguided and delusional.From what I read in Game of Shadows, Barry's dad was racist, and he just picked up on it over the years.
According to the accounts of his ex-mistress, Bonds saw it as a race thing, I am certain I have heard him say things to that affect in interviews before this poll.
He thinks he's a victim, plain and simple. Generations of our youth have been taught that it is never YOUR fault, that there is always someone or something else to blame. If people don't like you, it's not because you are a jerk. No, that means you did something wrong, and mommy's little angel is perfect. The media doesn't like Barry because he's a jerk, not because he's black however it looks bad because you would think that if the feds had a case they would go ahead and charge him but they don't. Hank Aaron was the one who had to put up with daily death threats and racial harrasement and now he's revered. such hypocrisy.

I remember back in 1992 when the Pirates played the Braves for the National League Championship in game 7. it was the 9th inning. the Pirates were ahead by 1 run. there were 2 outs and the bases were loaded. peg leg Sid Bream was on second base. the ball was hit to scrawny Bonds and he couldn't throw him out at the plate. he should have been on steroids then. at least the Pirates would have made it to the World Series.
