I thought everyone already knew that red stuff on Schilling's sock wasn't real blood?
It was pretty obvious during the game that it was fake. It's no secret that Schilling craves attention and he pulled this stunt so everyone would remember him as a "hero". I don't know why everyone is surprised that the Orioles announcer decided to shed some more light to the matter.

You sound like a moron..keep it up, I bet it suits you well. From the doctor that performed the procedure...
"Obviously, we put sutures in Curt Schilling's ankle right before he went out to pitch in a professional-level baseball game," Morgan said in a statement e-mailed to The Associated Press. "Sutures will pull with movement, and we completely expected a certain amount of blood to ooze from the wound. Socks are like sponges, and even a small amount of blood can soak a sock."

I thought everyone knew Schilling cried during the surgery and his mascara smeared his sockIt doesnt suprise me. I mean how many times does your ankle actually bleed? But even thought it probably was fake, it did manage to inspire a Red Sox team that was just one game from being knocked out, and sent them on to win 8 games in a row.
What slugger annually donates $1 million of his $9 million salary?
you people are retarted. they wouldnt put his sock in the hall of fame if it was ketchup or paint. from close up you would be able to tellAnyone that questions Schilling because of some off-hand comment made by the backup catcher is an idiot. It was blood on the sock and no one should question it.

Circunstansial evidence that it was paint:1) Schilling is a big mouth melodramatic blowhard
2) Humiliated Yankees fans
3) A discredited "first-hand" account relayed by a 5th rate broadcaster for a 10th rate Orioles team
Credible Evidence that it was fake

You got to give me more proof then that before I'm going to start calling an entire World Series Team a bunch of liars- there are many bitter ex Red Sox players from that team still around- yet why have they all said it was real?
We all knew it wasn't real Blood,,But Curt (AKA JOHN WAYNE) is a real drama Queen! The only PPL who belived it was blood was Bo Sox fans!! We New yorkers are much smarter then that,,Expect i thought it was Ketchup come to find out is really was paint!!
Are there any pitchers who throw only an occasional knuckle-ball?
Yeah... it wasn't blood. OK. Last I checked paint was suppose to stay the same over time. The "red substance" got darker and was more noticable throughout that game. Did any of you even watch that game? I am a die hard Cardinals fan and watched every pitch of those '04 playoffs and I can recall noticeing that the blood spot kept getting bigger and bigger with every pitch. This whole thing is stupid. What is the hardest position in baseball?
you're ignorant. It is real blood and you know why? Go see the actual sock at the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. I saw it and I can say that it really is blood because over time it has oxidised. It's not the same colour that it was right after it pitched and looks exactly like a blood stain now. It looked like blood when it was fresh, and it also stained the same colour that blood would over time.Stop trying to make some scandal out of nothing, It's real face it
