Aside from eBay, he can rent a spot/booth/table at the any Card Show and sell them there...have a garage sale and sell them...or take them to a card dealer/store and have them sell the cards on consignment.you can search the web for sports card dealers, or look for a sports memoribllia shop in your town.
i know you dont wanna hear this but you will probabley get more for them if you sell them on ebay yourselves.

Card shows happen all over the country, throughout the year. I go to several a year. It's a great way to sell off large quantities of cards. Depending on the size of the show, setting up a booth usually costs $25-$100. Check your newspaper.Bargain News, Ebay, or go to a collectibles/hobby store. Make sure you get what they are worth though. I've heard stories of people selling a set of cards for 50$ or whatever and the buyer just got a couple rookies worth a couple hundred a piece. Invest in this years version of the Baseball Card Trader's Guide and sell them all individually on Ebay, while grouping the worthless ones together at a cheap price.
