What is opening day of baseball for 2008?

I think that this is a year the Red Sox have a great shotat winning, they pitching looks great, their bullpen is one of the best in the league, the bats look great and they have a neve say die attitude. Their pitchers looks great, Schilling has rebounded froma rocky year, Beckett is tops in the league and looks magnificant, Dice-K is coming around and is a real threat, Wakefield has been superb and has one the best ERA in the league, and right not our 5 guy is Tavarez who has been okay and will soon be replaced by Lester. The bullpen has Papelbon one of the best closers in the game, Okajima has been near lights out and has not allowed a run in almost 18 innings, Donnelly and Romero has proven to be strong pick ups. Pitching wins games and ringht now the Red Sox pitching is looking great and the offense is always dangerous as well.

Where can I find the shorter baseball pants...the old school kind?

Redsox will not win the world series. The Yankees wont even finish making the playoffs. Its still to early in the season to seperate the contenders from the pretenders though. There are still plenty of good teams and one of them will win other then the redsox.

How can baseball be improved?

How many teams that finished in 3rd place the year prior go to the World Series the next year?

You have some high expectations of the Red Sox.

Do you think Yankees are going to win tonight.?

With the pitching they have I would say they are the favorite but lets just hope no one gets injured.

The answer above mine could possibly be the most retarded answer I have seen in awhile.

Is it a turn on for a guy when a girl knows her baseball?

barring any significant injuries the red sox wil win the world series. our rotation is the best in baseball and we have the best 3-4-5 hitters in baseball.

Why cant the dodgers beat the angels?

the yankees

Who's more important to the Yankees, A-Rod or Roger Clemens?

This is our year!

Mike Piazza the best Met ever?

The NL will win the series. The DH is a sham. Play some real baseball will ya.

Who hit the first homerun of the 2007 MLB season?

I really think the Red Sox have a good chance this year. They have a great starting rotation and I think that the closing staff is stellar. The Red Sox need to continue with the current run of great offense and support both Dice K and Wakefield with more runs. Go Sox!

Do any other fans leave games as early as the Giants?

I am neutral on this and not a Red Sox fan or hater.

The Red Sox three best pitchers match up well against any team in baseball. However Matsuzaka has looked not as good as I and many others expected against the strong offenses of the league. Unlike the above Red Sox fan said however, they do not have the best 3-4-5 hitters in baseball. Much has been written about JD Drew and his injury history, but he has only been hitting .248, with only 2 HR, and 11 RBI. To this point, they are eighth in runs scored and over 20 behind the Yankees. However this is skewed because they have been facing the pitching depleted Yankees, Orioles, and Devil Rays. Facing good pitching, the Red Sox offense will struggle. Lugo, Crisp, Hinske and Pedroia are all hitting less than .270.

The Mets are a contender as their starters Maine, Glavine, and a healthy Pedro Martinez could take them deep in the playoffs. I'm not sure how the Red Sox fan could think that their offense is better than a lineup with Reyes, Wright, Beltran, Delgado and Alou. Their pitching and hitting lead the major leagues. The deciding factor will be the health and strength of their starting pitching, especially if batters can figure out Maine and he can't adjust, and if Pedro can return to form.

The Tigers look very strong as well, with a good rotation and good hitting, which is second in the league in runs scored. However I think the offense is a mirage. None of the pitching staffs in the AL Central are elite and in the top 10 teams in ERA. The presence of Santana makes people think they are but check the ERA of the Indians (4.15) and Kansas City (4.49). Bonderman, Verlander and Robertson are good, but the question mark will be how the young starters adjust as the hitters start to adjust to them. The bullpen without Zumaya might be overtaxed by the end of the year which could let them down. Rodney has not been as untouchable as in years past and they could lose playoff games in the later innings.

The Dodgers, with their incredible depth, look very strong. Penny, Lowe and either Schmidt, Wolfe, Hendrickson, Billingsley, Kuo or even more match up well with other team's frontline starters. Their bullpen is solid and I think they lead the majors with something like a 18-1 record when they lead after seven innings. They are fifth in the National League in runs scored and this will be an issue. Future superstar Matt Kemp was injured on Dodger opening day and has not played since, and super prospect Andy LaRoche was just brought up. However they have faced strong pitching in the National League west, which has the strongest pitching in baseball. How well their hitters can produce runs will be more apparent when they play more against the other divisions.

The Braves are a mirage as they only have two decent starters and won't be able to go deep in the playoffs.

The Brewers don't have the starting pitching. Their numbers are skewed playing against the weak NL Central. Suppan and Vargas are pitching well now but they will regress to their career numbers.

If Zambrano were healthy, the Cubs would have a better shot, but Lilly's numbers are overstated because he has been pitching in the weak NL Central.

Finally I hate to bring you the bad news but the Yankees have a shot. They lead the majors in runs scored and they are not firing on all cylinders yet. A frontline of Clemens, Mussina, Pettite, Hughes and Wang could bring them ahead of the Red Sox.

How many left handed batters would you have in your lineup on a regular basis on average?

I love your humor. YANKEES, YANKEES, YANKEES!! 27th world series championship. Oh, that's right, I wasn't supposed to say anything about the YANKEES!!
