How to you strike out left handed hitters?
Question:what types of pitches and where do you locate it. be specific on pitches, like fastball, curveball, palmball, etc.
Answers:
If you're a lefty, you're going to use your fastball, especially a two-seamer, inside on them, because you'll have the ability to really get it in on their hands. And you'll use your slider away.
For a righty, you'll basically do the opposite. You want to throw your 4-seamed fastball to the outside corner. If you throw a cutter, you can run that pitch up and in on the hands of a lefty with -great- effectiveness, because even if they hit it, they'll probably turn it foul or pop it up.
Also, no sliders if you're a righty. The pitch breaks in toward them, and they get a really great view of it. Curves can be dangerous too for that reason. A changeup away is your best bet as an off-speed pitch.
