Lidge seems to have a confidence problem with his out pitch, his slider. He may be better off in MR in the short term, but it doesn't change the issue that he is not throwing that explosive slider with confidence. I don't think he will be entirely right until he proves to himself that he can throw that pitch under pressure, which won't happen until he gets a chance to close again.
