Willie Mays amazing talent
Answers:
Are the Mariners good enough to win the West.?
You said "in their prime"Mays had a much longer career and put up better Hit and HR totals. Until the war came along DiMaggio was a remarkable talent, he was not the same player after missing 3 years to the war.
I would take DiMaggio "in his prime"

"DiMaggio had a far greater supporting cast than Mays ever had" >I bet to differ, the NY then San Francisco Giants from the early 50's until the middle 60's were some of the best teams of all time. Specifically the 1954 NY Giants and the 1962 SF Giants are two of the greatest ever. Alvin Dark, Don Mueller, Johnny Antonelli, Sal Maglie, Hoyt Wilhelm, Orlando Cepeda, Felipe & Matty Alou, Willie McCovey, Jack Sanford & Juan Marichal were just some of the great players on those teams with Mays.
Who Is Your Favorite Baseball Player, As A 3rd Basemen.?

In their prime? I'd like to have both the grat Yankee and the great Giant. What is something most people don't know about Sammy Sosa?
Prolly mays; their was nothing he couldn't do. But you really can't go wrong with either of themWho Has The Prettiest Swing in Baseball?
In this little fantasy, give me Joltin' Joe, although Mays was better by the numbers. Mays was great, but DiMaggio was a winner in every sense of the word.Do you think A-rod will continue doing great this year?
Tough question. I will have to take Joe DiMaggio because of his ability to lead his team and he was also a great otufielder as well. He would have won his share of gold gloves had the award been around. Joe retire in 1951. MLB didn't start giving out gold gloves until1957.Joe was as solid and as clutch as they come.
Are there special or unique ways of cheering created by fans to root for their MLB teams?
willie mays was perhaps the greatest ballplayer of all-time, so i would take him yoWhere can I copy a backwards K?
I'd have to go with Mays because he could run the bases better. Mays had 338 stolen bases in his career versus DiMaggio's 30. Of course DiMaggio lost 3 years of his career because of WWII, and he was just as good when he came back as when he left, but I think Mays' numbers are more impressive (longer career, more homeruns, stolen bases, Gold Gloves, MVP awards). But DiMaggio was pretty dang good, too!I know Josh Hamilton is the leading candidate for ROY how about making the All Star team?
I'd never want to take anything away from DiMaggio, but he had a far greater supporting cast than Mays ever had. The stronger a line-up is around you, the better pitches you'll see to hit. Willie Mays never had that kind of protection and was still able to have a stellar career at the plate and also included a phenomenal glove in the field and a rocket arm. It's really a toss-up. They're two of the greatest players ever, but given the choice I'd go with Willie Mays. What exactly is the "bereavement list" in MLB?
mays - more speed and powerWhy do so many foriegn baseball players come from the Dominican Republic?
