Will Greg Maddux end up 3rd on the ALL Time win list?
Question:Cy Young has 511, Walter Johnson has 411, then Mathewson and Alexander have 373... Maddux has 336 so he needs 37 to tie for 3rd ALL TIME. If he gets 10 more this year-he'll need 27 more if he pitchs 2 more seasons? Or will Clemens get there first?

If Clemens keeps being a part time player I can't see how he can end up with more wins than Maddux. Of course Maddux has to stay healthy and get decent run support for this to happen. He has slowed down a little but I think he has enough in the tank to do it.When will the Piarates spend some of the team sharing rev. on decent home run hitting hero?
i deffinatly think maddux will do it. the way he pitches and the lack of abuse his arm goes through he has at least 3 more years leftI don't think either will make it. Sooner or later, every team will realize that as good as Clemens is, he's not worth $28 million (prorated) per season and he'll retire. He might make it to 360, but he won't make 373.
Maddux is tricky enough that he could probably pitch until he was 60 and pass Cy Young, but I think he considered retiring this past offseason. I just don't see him pitching another two years.
Not sure if any will sign Maddux when he's 43. His era has been well over four the past few year and there's not really much left on his pitches.
I don't think he get's it. And he can forget about pitching that weak stuff in the AL.

With Clemens pitching for a team that scores runs, he should do it. I put Maddux at 5th. I don't see him pitching after next season. I think he gets 365 and passes Spahn. The real question should be: Who gets 300 first, Glavine or the Unit?More Questions & Answers...
