1927 Yankees, hands down.Any modern team would beat any old time team, hands down. Better health care, better nutrition, better weight training, better training in general, and lets not forget performance enhancers, legal and illegal. You put the 1927 Yankees next to any team from the 70s and beyond, and you would boggle at the difference in weight and size alone. Even more so with a 2000+ team.

Where the Reds would get in trouble in that series would be the way Sparky Anderson used his bullpen and took his starting pitchers out so soon. He'd wear the bullpen down and probably allow the Yankees to eventually beat the Reds in six games.Anything "could" happen in a 7 game series, but, if you put the two teams into a computer and played them thousands of games >head to head< the 27 Yankees would win a majority of the games.
