How can MLB justify the free spending mentality? (Clemens...)?
Question:Roger Clemens is going to be getting around $28 million for less than a full season. The Devil Rays start of the season team payroll was $24.12 million. How can this type of free spending be justified over and over again by MLB? Simply because NY and Boston don't win it every year? Is it the MLBPA that keeps MLB from putting a better system in place? What is the solution? Higher luxury tax, salary cap? How can MLB level the playing field more, give smaller market teams like Tampa Bay and Kansas City a chance?

What is the best baseball ballpark in MLB?
It's simple. As long as there are fans who are willing to spend their disposable, and non-disposable income on tickets, concessions, and parking, contractual lunacy will continue to reach ridiculous lows. The memory of the outcry when the first million dollar contract was awarded to a player on the Yankees is still fresh. I absolutely refuse to spend one penny on anything related to Major League Baseball. The last game I ever attended was some yawner between the Philthies and the Pirates at the late, great Veterans Stadium about 20 years ago with tickets given to some of us at work. There is too much money around. It either goes to the players or the owners, cause they're not giving it back to us. So I say good for the players. Poorly run franchises like the Royals and the D-Rays get enough rewards for doing a bad job already.
When Will The Chicago Cubs Win The World Series?
i totally agree with you. Yankees onyl way they can win is to pay big Dollar$ for a player or 2. other teams have to use who they have becuz they dont got the money. There should be some kind of way like making a salary cap for each team or something. Yankees still cant win with all that money and players they got.As long as people continue to buy the tickets at these price, they will spend. If price go up, people will pay more and they will spend more. Ony thing for certain is that they don't go down!
Who was the last MLB batter to hit an inside the park home run off a closer?
The MLBPA is probably the strongest players union in professional sports -- undoubtedly you noticed the havoc the NHLPA wreaked on the NHL when they tried to impose a salary cap -- that's nothing compared to what the MLBPA will do -- last time the owners tried to stand up to them we lost a season AND the owners got nothing in the end anyways -- I don't know what we would lose if owner's actually played to win next timeWho's your favorite baseball team mets or yankees?
Blame guys like George Steinbrenner. Baseball won't get better until he dies.they definitly need a salary cap, but as someone mentioned before, last time owners tried, the players went on strike. since baseball is considered to be THE SPORT in the US, mlbpa pretty much owns the league. until fans stop attending baseball games and buying their products, prices will never go down and salary cap will never be established. its the simple law of economics, demand over supply. the owners and players know that they have their fans by the balls so they'll feed off of them until there isnt anyone to feed off of.
WHEN does the Blue Jay season start ??
It's the fault of Tampa Bay and Kansas City that they don't use the money that is given to them to make their teams better. The Yankees and Red Sox and other big market teams pay out a ton of money through luxury taxes, each season, it goes into a pot and smaller market teams are given a portion of that money. However they do not use it wisely if they are not putting a quality product on the field. If they were to put a quality product on the field they would attract more fans and be able to continue to grow their franchises. However this would mean the owners would have to use some of the money they are lining their pockets with and put it back into the team.Where can I find batting cages near Imlay city Michigan?
