Do you think that Alex Rodriguez plays under the "Roger Maris syndrome"?
Question:By this I mean that Maris and Rodriguez would have been greatly appreciated by fans in any other MBL city but, in New York, they cannot seem to accept someone coming in from thre outside and showing up their darling player (Mantle and Jeter).
Answers:
P. Burrell, D. Roberts, Coco Crisp or Mike Cameron as OF?
It is not that Yankee fans do not appreciate A-Rod, it is just that too many look at his salary and think he should never make an out of never make an error.A-Rod is not known for icewater in his veins during the clutch situations (ie Oritz and Jeter). He also says some stupid things int he media that gets misconstrude and blown out of proportion.
I am a Yankee fan. I root for A-Rod although I do not love him. He will never be Jeter, Mattingly or Rivera. A-Rod was not "born" here as those mentioned and players like Mantle and many others. Yankee fans do not hate him because of Jeter, some (of the dumb) Yankee fans just refuse to accept that he is human.
