Vin Scully is the man broadcasters want to be when they grow up. Scully is clear, he is concise, and his preparation for games is incredible. I am a broadcaster and I know an announcer is good when a listener can sit back, close their eyes, and "see" everything that is going on. Scully is one of the rare few that has that ability.Do you think the White Sox have what it takes to win the 2007 World Series?
One would have to have listened to every team's broadcasts, on a number of occasions, and in all languages, in order to answer this question.But the HOF does recognize broadcasters, and Scully is one of those who have been so honoured.
I have to admit, though, that I do like to listen to the Dodgers home game broadcasts, just to listen to Vin Scully.

Vin Scully is great, but I have to give my nod to the hometown guy - Denny Matthews. Most people probably don't have a clue who he is, but he's been doing the Royals games since their inception in 1969.Jonathan Papelbon. Did you see the look on that man's face?

Vin wins again. Bill King, who was my favorite announcer, passed away on the operating table (for his hurt legs) in oct 05.The Tigers great Ernie Harwell would also qualify, but he is retired now.
Vin, is so fun to listen to. He has seen so much of the game. Whenever I'm down in LA, i always bring a radio to hear him call the game.
