I would say Pujols or Rodriguez, but Pujols is the best bet.It will never be Pujols, they say he's about 26, but he's really 32 or 33. Alex Rodriguez is the only one right now who has a shot.

A Rod looks like he will be next. He is going to become the youngest player to join the 500 club later this season. He hit 35 all of last season, needed 36 this season, and looks like he might get there before the All Star break. Anyway, he is a 31 year old who is 24th on the all time list and is poised to reach a mark which has long been seen as a Hall of Fame entry point. So, assuming no serious injuries, he should have another 10 seasons of sufficent quality to carry him past whatever mark Bonds retires at.
Pujols will probabaly come after that. Beyond Pujols, it is far to early to look at a future Homerun King

It's obvious that Bonds is going to break the record next. There is no doubt about that. After him, ARod has the best chance. As long as he stays healthy, he should have no problem at all. Without counting this year and his rookie year (only 48 games), he averages around 41 homers a year. There is no way he can keep that up, but if he did and he plays as long as Bonds, he would have over 900 homeruns.ARod

A-Rod here is a player that make other players around him better and even when they don't pitch to him he gets 50+ home runs. Plus he has 478 which means at his current rate he'll break the record in 6 years and he'll still be under 40. Without steroids, I don't see anyone coming close to the record for at least another twenty years. The best chance is this year with A-Rod as the Yankees are packed from beginning to end with hitters, so pitchers will not walk him intentionally.
