How many different ways can you reach base without getting a hit? name them.?
Question:
Answers:
What kind of baseball bat does Craig Biggio of the Houston Astros use?
walkhit by pitch
dropped 3rd strike
hitting into a fielder's choice
defensive error
...i know there's more, but i can't remember them.
I probably don't know every way, but I can name some.
1.) Get four balls & earn a walk.
2.) Get hit by a pitch.
3.) Reach base on an error by the defense.
4.) Take first base from home plate after a dropped pitch.*
5.) Reach on a fielder's choice, where the defense chooses to take a different force-out than the one at first base.
That's all I know about.
* - This can be seen in Game 2 of the 2005 ALCS. A.J. Pierzynski of the White Sox was struck out, but it was ruled that Josh Paul dropped the strike ball, A.J. Pierzynski ran to first base and was ruled safe. For the player to be out, the catcher must pick up the ball and make the tag.
What Happened today? NYY vs. TB?
walk(intentional or unintentional)safe on error

Does anyone know a website that has pictures from sections at a stadium?

2. Live ball off the bat hitting a runner. runner is out, and batter is awarded first base.
Is there a jersey number that only one player has ever worn but it is not a retired number?

Can bonds get to 780 HR's before the end of this season?
You are looking for rules 6.08 and 6.09.6.08a does not differentiate between an intentional walk and a normal one, so I don't know that you want to count them as separate. However, rule 10.02a(12) and 10.02a(13) does specify for the official scorer to keep a tally of total BBs (which includes IBBs) and then a separate tally of how many were IBBs, so I guess you could count it as two methods if you want.
6.08b is for hit by pitch (worded as touched by a pitched ball).
6.08c is for catcher's and fielder's interference. Although the batter would have to hit the ball for fielder's interference, it isn't counted as a hit.
6.09b is for a dropped 3rd strike, but only when first is open, unless there are two outs, in which case first doesn't need to be open. Also, if the batter does not realize his situation and does not move towards first but instead leaves the dirt circle surrounding home plate, he is out and not awarded first.
If you are put in as a pinch runner at first, you reach first base (despite not technically being awarded first) without getting a hit.
Also, if a runner touches the ball (or interferes with the fielding...he doesn't actually have to touch it, but most of the time that's what they call it for), the runner is out and the batter reaches first.
1. Walk
2. Hit By Pitch
3. Catcher's Interference
4. Fielder's Interference (called obstruction)
5. Dropped Third Strike (in the right situation)
6. Pinch Runner
7. Runner's Interference
And if you want to bend yourself a little...
8. Intentional Walk
Now, I basically just copied and pasted my answer for the question someone else said they remembered, but that question was for reaching base without making contact. You just said without getting a hit. So in addition to what I've mentioned, there are also two more ways I can think of.
1. Error
This is not scored a hit, so you'd reach base without getting a hit.
2. Fielder's Choice
This also is not scored a hit. An example would be having a runner on first, and the batter hits a slow roller to third. The Third baseman throws to second, getting the lead runner out, but the batter beats out the throw to first. This is not scored a hit (but it does count as an at bat), even though you reach base.
I'm too lazy to look up the right section of the rule, but it should be part of rule 6.
Oh, and for the guys below me, a BALK (not bach) only advances runners who are on base, not the batter, no matter the count. Look up rule 8.05 and see the penalty section (just after part m) and you'll see that the batter never advances on a balk. See my link below. You can also use that link to look up the other rules I mentioned too.
PS - I should get the best answer because I'm not just talking out of my butt and giving false information. I'm supporting it with the rule book and the specific rules.
Anyone know where I can find a matt murton jersey for cheap?

How to throw a baseball fast.?
Depending on the situation, there are nine...Without any runners on base...
(1) Walk
(2) Error
(3) Hit by pitch
(4) Strikeout (Catcher drops third strike and batter beats throw to first base)
(5) Catcher's Interference
(6) Balk (If the batter has a count of 3 balls and pitcher balks)
With one or more runners on base... add these... less than two outs.
(1) Fielder's Choice
(2) Batted ball hits runner (runner out) and batter takes first base.
(3) Pinch-runner
If you owned a major league baseball team and had the opportunity?
How often are people going to ask this question without first checking the archives?1. Fielder's choice
2. Error
3. Base on balls
4. Passed ball (on third strike)
5. Wild pitch (on third strike)
6. Interference
7. Obstruction
8. Hit by pitch
9. Pinch runner (if you're trying to be cute)
And let's clear up some myths while we're at it:
(1) The batter is NEVER awarded first base because of a balk
(2) A walk and an intentional walk are the same thing
(3) There IS a difference between reaching first on a wild pitch or a passed ball
(4) When the batter-runner is awarded first because his batted ball has struck a runner, the batter is credited with a hit
