Who are the greatest outfielders in baseball history?
Question:willie mays, mickey mantle, duke snyder, ken griffey jr, barry bonds...
Answers:
In which year was tried to use a ball of orange color, and that was the one that proposed it?
Mays, Mantle, Bonds, Rose are a few of the good ones.I am sick and freakin tired of people ragging on Bonds. How can you say he had a huge jump in HRs? Look at his career stats...he progresses year after year(which he is supposed to as a good baseball player!)and then maintains throughout his career. I do not see evidence of a huge spike in his homers after a certain year, except possibly the 73 year but he was just on fire that year. If anything, look at freakin A Rod! He went from 0 HR his rookie year to 5 HR the next year to 36!! the following year. THAT is a jump!
Barry Bonds is a great player no matter what anybody says. It has not been proved that he has taken roids, innocent until proven guilty...He is a great fielder and batter. Dick of a person but that's besides the point. He worked his *** off to get to where he is now, he deserves the Hall of Fame.
Is it time to even the playing field between hitting and pitching in MLB?
bonds, clemente, and edmondsWell Pete Rose, Willie Mays, Barry Bonds, Mantle to name a few. Sorry i forgot the babe, and teddy ballgame.
And for all you Bonds haters, go look at any players pic from his rookie year to his 20th season they were all scronny and all got fatter and bigger ala Clemens, Griffey, Aaron, Rose, Babe.
so until he gets convicted of doing the crime quit giving him time. Appreciate what he is about to accomplish

How to Display a Baseball Program?
Well just to correct the perosn above me A-Rod hit 0 home runs in his first season because he played in 17 games. Then A-Rod went to 36 in his first full year reaching his highest so far,57 in 2002.Bonds went from hitting 16 home runs in 113 games to hitting 73 in 153 in 2001.Anyways here are my choices.CF-Tris Speaker
RF-Babe Ruth
LF-Ty Cobb
Clemente, Cobb, Speaker, the Waners, Mays, Aaron, Ruth, Mantle, Dimaggio, Griffey Jr., Snider, Joe Jackson, Teddy Ballgame.
I'd name more, but those are the ones that pop out at me right away.
I think it also depends on what you want to measure greatness by. If you just mean fielding, then some of those names drop off the list. If just power hitting, some drop off again.
Personally, I think the greatest outfielder of all time is Clemente.
To the Bonds guy, take a look at his numbers again. From his Rookie year, up to and including the 1998 season, Bonds averaged 30 HR/yr. According to his ex-mistress, Bonds got jealous of McGwire and Sosa, said, "Why not me?" and started juicing in 1999, at the age of 35. From that point until now, Bonds has averaged 40 HR/year (not counting this year, as it isn't over, and not counting his season a couple back where he played like 14 games). That's a 10 HR/yr jump. Now, remember also that he hit this jump AFTER his prime, and has continued it into his 40s. NOBODY naturally hits that big of a power spike AFTER they turn 35 (i.e. after passing their prime power years), and continues it into their mid 40s. Say what you will about believing he juices, but the fact is he has an extremely unnatural spike in power. Now, look at Aaron. Model of consistency. His numbers fluctuate year to year from 40 HR to 30 HR, but he does that every year his entire career. He ALWAYS had that power. It didn't suddenly come on late in his career.
Now, I think ARod juices too, but remember, that year you mentioned where he hit 5, he played in less than 20 games.
Oh, also, imagine the old 60's NL All Star Team that featured Clemente, Mays and Aaron. I think that was the batting order too. Wicked awesome. If I wanted to pick only 3 outfielders I could have, those would be my guys (no disrespect to Ruth, but I'd rather have Clemente considering I have the other 2 already).
Barry Bonds? anyways, all jokes aside. Mays, Andruw Jones, Jim Edmonds and Ichiro. Just to name a few. Bonds...yea right.
