On MLB '07, Can you update the rosters once playing the season mode?
This happened with Alex Rios on Joey Cora in Boston a year or two back. Its the way the rule is worded, that as long as the ball does not hit the ground, the fielder can hacky-sack a bunt all the way to the wall and kick it over, i'd be a homerun.Because that's the rule. It's 6.09(g). The following are links to the rulebook, as well as to some other basics of the game.
How do I find out if a game at Fenway park is cancelled due to rain?
Because it touched the fielder's glove. Anytime it touches the glove, it becomes a chance that the fielder missed, therefore an error.Where do I find stats for pitchers vs. batters past history against each other.?
Just like back then with Jose Conseco where it bounced off his head and over the wall. It's not an error, but a homerun. It could be a ground rule double, but it never hit the ground.Say a batter hits a line drive to the pitcher, deflects off of him and goes into the glove of the shortstop. It's not an error, but an out, because the ball is still in play since it never hit the ground.
Do u think the royals will make the playoffs with the win streak going.?
look in the rule books.. an error is a mistake on a catchable ball, that ball was in the gap. its no different then diving for a ball, missing it and its a ground rule double. no error!! intstead it goes over..What is WHIP. What does WHIP stand for. How do you measure ERA?
I don;t believe that they would call an assisted home run an error unless it was a canseco style, off my head and into the bleachers type thing. As with any long ball, the chances of the fielder actaully tracking it down are pretty slim, so for him just to get a glove on it was pretty good. I think that if he had time to settle under it and then smack it over the fence, then it would have been ruled an error, but seeing as how he got on his horse and zoomed there just to get some leather on it, it would be unfair to give an error. They don't give third basemen an error when the miraculousy knock down a screamer down the line, but fail to get the out, right? Same principal.Who was a better manager Billy Martin or Joe Torre?
You know what? I'm with you.All of the answers above don't really give any evidence.
The ball was CLEARLY catchable. The guy was on the run but it was not extraordinary effort. If he makes the play its a routine out. If he drops it and it stays in play its CLEARLY an error. Nobody would give Dunn a double on that. Its a 2 base error.
But honestly, I don't know the answer.
But your questions made me wonder too...
Barry bonds trainer a good friend?
If it was a error then it wouldn't be a counted as a hit so that would mean it wasn't a homerun right so what would that have to score that as a 4 base errorDoes anyone konw when the yankees are gonna play?
