When did Cubs fans lose their class?
Question:I attended the Cubs/Brewers game in Milwaukee Friday night. A game that a lot Cubs fans attend because of the close proximity. Usually I'm impressed with the fans loyalty, but as time goes on I'm losing respect for them and their team. Because I was wearing a Brewer hat, I was called a "f@ggot", a "loser", and taunted several times. I realize it was only a small percentage of the fans. But people, when you watch your team on the road, you represent your team. And the Cubs fans are slowly turning into punks. You used to be the lovable losers, from now on I'm just considering you losers.

probably because they havent won a world series in god knows how long. they think its their year every year but we all know how that will turn out.I know what you are talking about. I'm a White Sox season ticket holder, and have attended Cubs Sox games my whole life. It always seemed like a friendly rivalry, but over the last few years it seems like Cubs fans are starting to act more like Boston fans. There is definitely more hatred coming from them now. I think after so many losses the bitterness starts to build up. Next time just ask them if they forgot to change their tampons.

I'm from Chicago and hearing you say that I feel embarassed for the GOOD fans that the Cubs have...it only takes a few knuckleheads to make it bad for the rest.Now, I am NOT a Cubs fan (I too am a Brewers fan but would NEVER come to Milwaukee to see the Cubs play, anyone else but them!) , in fact, I detest the Cubs but as you said, you represent the team and actually the city too when your seeing them on the road, so yeah, why can't people be a bit respectful?
I'm a Sox fan and routinely go to at least one Sox Cubs game home and away each summer.
Here's my take... If you watch the game in better (read- more expensive) seats, the fans are pretty cool. In the bleachers, there's a lot of drunk frat boys who are idiots. I used to take a lot of abuse at Wrigley. Even gotten trash talked by the TV guys TWICE on the broadcast (I was told later) for wearing Sox gear to a nonSox game. But it is always good natured.
Most Cubs fans, although misguided, are pretty cool.

if you wear the opposing teams gear, weather you are at wrigley or yankee stadium or any AA stadium, you are opening yourself up for taunts.get some back-bone and have fun with it if you do. quit whinning and watch the game on tv if you cant handle being in public. you remind me of women who complain about smoke when they go to a bar.
