Best SS / 2B tandem in the mlb?

Defensively, the Wilson/Castillo combo in Pittsburgh was pretty phenomenal. Steady Freddy has done a decent job so far.Offensively I'd say it has to be Rollins/Utley.
Any combo w/ Reyes has to be up their, simply b/c Reyes is the best player in the game, so you can pair him w/ anyone and call it a good pairing. Uggla/Ramirez is nice, and Hardy/Weeks is decent, as is Jeter/Cano (although Cano seems like a 1 trick pony to me). Tejada/Roberts? I'd say take your pick from those couple.

Bias, shmias. I'd take Jeter/Cano over any duo in the league.Yeah, Jeter's "D" is down so far this year, but it won't stay that way. They are both gonna hit well over .300, 15 -20 homers, 90 ish r.b.i., steal a few bases and score 100+ runs. They are both gonna be top five in fielding their position, and both play HARD, Every Day. I'd put 'em up their with Trammell/Whittaker when their done (barring injury)

fielding wise i would have to say jose reyes and jose valentin of the New York Mets. both are amazing in the field and can turn double plays like crazy. for batting, jose reyes is one of the best, but valentin isn't all that great. for batting, i do not know who the best is. but fielding is definitely reyes and valentin.
Defensively, I'd have to say probably either Jeter/Cano or maybe even Vizquel/Durham.
Offensively I'd say Rollins/Utley

Notice how all 6 teams with a 2B better than Phillips also have a SS better than Gonzalez? All it would've taken was one team with a better 2B and SS to prove your claim untrue. Furthermore, there are several 2Bs comparable to Phillips that I didn't list because they weren't clearly superior in my eyes.

Offensively, it has to be Rollins and Utley in Philadelphia. As for defensively, because I haven't seen any tandems in action, the best I can come up with is Durham and Vizquel.

there aren't many great second basemen out there so this question is really only a competition between two- maybe three teams. The orioles have possibly the best SS out of the 3 teams but the worst 2B in Tejada/Roberts. Next I'd put the Phillies with the best 2B in baseball but a SS who has potential but has never been amazing in Rollins/Utley. The number one combo I give to my team- the Yankees. They have Jeter and Cano who both hit around .340 last year. Jeter is a proven star and Cano is a proven future star.More Questions & Answers...
