What is the name of the original field that the Detroit baseball club played on?
Mickey Mantle-623 feet. How do you think Julio Lugo (Bos SS) will perform this year?
Well that depends on what you want to count. The farthest a ball has travelled, well the answer is 56 miles. A ball was once hit in LA, landed in a train and went to San Diego, or near San Diego. The farthest actual home run, is 623 ft by Mickey mantle. There have been stories of longer ones in Cuba, some of which say have been well over 700 ft, but there is no documentation of that occuring...just legends. Are the Yankees reaching by signing Roger Clemens?
longest one ever hit in an actual game is 459 by albert pujols.that mickey mantle garbage is bogus...How do I calculate a pitchers earned run average?
656 feet by Mickey Mantle. Hit it off of Washington Senators pitcher Chuck Stobbs.Anyone familiar with ISA Co-ed Softball Rules?
Mantle hit what one historian estimated at 643 ft, and another that was measured at 565 ft. Although both of these were measured to where the ball was found, not where it actually landed. But that home run led to the coining of the phrase "tape measure homerun." Distances will always be in debate, but I would put my money on Mantle as having hit the farthest HR ever.Any active starting pitchers with great success after Tommy John surgery?
The Guinness Book of World Records says that the homerun Mantle hit on April 17, 1953 at Clark Griffin Stadium in Washington has the record of 565ft. However, since homerun distances have been measured electronically. Cecil Fielder has the longest on record at 502ft on September 14, 1991. This type of measuring started in 1982, and is the same type used today to estimate distances. What is the best team in the American League?
If they measured for the Negro Leagues, I guarantee it would be Josh Gibson. How do you throw a major leage curve ball?
i dont know about the actual distance, but i remember Richie Sexson as a brewer, hit a ball of of his face on the center field scoreboard.Sammy Sosa hit a home run out of miller park during the home run derbyI don't know. I have seen Sammy Sosa hit 550 foot homeruns in the 2002 Home Run Derby at Miller Park. Those were bombs! I also saw Jim Thome hit a homerun out of the park and into the street at Jacobs Field when he was in a Indians uniform.
I don't know the exact distance- Hit Tracker has it at 500', but it had to be farther than that- but Glenallen Hill's shot out of Wrigley, across the street, and onto the roof of a building across the street is the biggest I have ever seen. Sosa also corked (pun not intended) some monster shots in 1998. His 61st and 62nd homers exited the yard with plenty to spare, also rattling around off the facades of buildings across the street.
